Calvin

He plucked that bill he’d brought to Wil, right out of Wil’s hand, because he now knew that Wil was actively trying to stop him from knowing just how often he was holding secret meetings with Marilyn. It had been the reason he’d brought it in here to see just what was going on with his friend where Marilyn was concerned. The annoyed look on Wil’s face as Calvin left his office with that bill, to make his way to accounting said it all. Wil was definitely keeping something from him, and he was betting on it being that Wil had probably seen the twins in that last meeting and made the connection and was now trying to get the proof

Hence, there being new meetings, and he’d likely tried to keep it a secret, but that bill landing on his desk, that had told Wil the company account was going to be forwarding them to Calvin. So he’d mentioned there would be more meetings to come was all

He was doing it all behind Calvin’s back, in case there was nothing to share. He could actually understand why Wil was trying to keep things from him. He was trying to keep Calvin’s obsession at bay and keep him away from Marilyn and the children. He’d just voiced, he’d harmed them, a full reminder to Calvin of his actions against the woman. Had likely done it on purpose to remind him to stay away from her even

He would let it go if that was the case, because it was likely Wil was also trying to help him. Calvin strolled into accounting and greeted his accountant, Morning SallyHe smiled at her

Mr Reeves. She greeted him. Did you get that bill I sent you?”

I did, and I followed it up with Wil.He nodded. It’s Miss Riddley’s legal fees for a meeting she had with Wil. You may pay it. I also have a favour to ask you, regarding two particular things.”

Hmm?she frowned at him

Wil is going to come down here later this afternoon and request you no longer send any of these bills to me. Though you have my permission to pay them without asking me first.”

You’re just going to pay her legal fees without question?Sally asked now

Yes.He nodded, and he was, because she was actually Marrin, only she just didn’t know it. So, you can tell Wil when he comes that I’ve told you to just pay them. He’s then going to ask you not to send them to me at all. This is where my favour comes in. I want you to tell Wil that’s fine. But I want you to send me a copy anyway and just not tell Wil about it.”

Why?she asked right back

Because Wil is trying to hide meetings with Marilyn from me, and I want to know just how often they are being held, and where if possible. Sp, feel free to inquire about which hotel they used. It’s not listed on that bill. I’d like all the information, but I don’t want Wil to know. That’s the second favour.”

She was sitting staring at him now. She knew he rarely kept anything from Wil, and she would also know who Miss Riddley was. Perhaps, Mr Reeves, that is not a good idea; Women don’t like being stalked, even from

distance.”

He frowned right at her, unhappy with her words directed at him. I’m fully aware of that, Sally. He stated flatly, Tm, however, not stalking her, I’m actually stalking Wil.” He told her

Sally nodded Alright. Was all she stated, his unhappiness with her questioning him had come across loud and clear, T’ll pay this on the due date. She indicated to the bill

Calvin nodded and walked away and returned to his office. He got himself a coffee along the way and stood staring out the window in his office. He was happy with his scheming to get around Wil. Two could play that game. Let’s just see how you like it.he thought to himself as he sipped his coffee

He was standing there thinking about what he needed to do from here on out. He knew that he had to find a way to gain Marilyn’s trust. Something he’d broken himself, something even Wil had stated needed to be worked on. Wil had used the words trust buildinghimself. So, there was an issue there, even for Wil. He supposed she had no trust even in Wil due to him being Calvin’s lawyer

The question was, how was Calvin going to gain her trust? After all that had happened, what would it take and how long would it take? He had no idea at all. He didn’t think just banging on her door with the DNA results in his hand, when they came in was going to work

It would, of course, be solid proof of her being Marrin and the children his, but then, how was he going to explain to her just how he had gotten that himself? Clearly it wasn’t going to be by legal means, and she would know that. She’d be able to accuse him of breaking into her home and retrieving the boys along with her own DNA, illegally. Which, of course, he had done because she hadn’t given permission. He highly doubted that she would ever give permission either, certainly not while there was a restraining order on him. Hell banging on her door was going to be a full breach of that order

Doing that was just going to make her go on the defensive. He could well imagine she would just call the police and tell them he was at her home and in breach of that restraining order, and then she would call her lawyer once more. He would be hauled away and likely arrested due to those previous charges. Even though they had been rescinded, they were likely to still be on file somewhere

Wil would also surely be just as ticked off as Marilyn was about him doing something like that, so he wasn’t going to do that. He needed to approach this calmly, show her that he was of no threat, and to do that he had to be gentle, and show that he cared about her and the boy’s emotional wellbeing

Even though he was struggling with his own emotional state, on a daily basis. Over what he’d done to Marilyn, while she’d been here in Houston. Calvin believed he was handling it better with every day that passed, coming to terms with his behaviour and containing that obsession of his. He’d been able to see it for what it was, and he’d actually been able to start letting go of his obsession and see it was all his own doing. that he had twisted everything and Marrin had done nothing to him

Every morning, when he woke up he told himself that Marilyn was Marrin, that she had actually lost her memories in that car accident she’d had all those years ago. This was the reason she’d never contacted him. He reminded himself every day that she couldn’t tell him about the twins or not being on that plane, because she’d been in the hospital unconscious, and had woken up with no memory of him, of their life together

It was his own way of coming to terms with who she was, and that she’d done nothing wrong, that he didn’t need to punish her or even out her to him as Marrin, because he actually couldn’t do that, because she didn’t recall it, and he had no idea if she would ever remember being Marrin

So he was going to have to not only gain her trust but win Marilyn’s heart as well. He could do it, he knew he could. She’d loved him once before, he could get her to love him again. It was just a matter of her spending time with him, seeing the good side of him. Letting her see him with the twins, how much he would love her and them, that he wanted that, all of them together as a family

He just couldn’t do it until he didn’t need to tell himself who she was, had completely let go of that obsession. so that he was certain that he wouldn’t cause her or the twins any more harm. Something that restraining order was actually forcibly giving him. Time to become her loving husband once more

He had a picture of her and the twins to look at every day. It was even in a frame now, though it was not out in the apartment for all to see. But locked away in his home office desk draw, where not even Wil could see it

Calvin had looked at it every day since receiving that photo from Phillipe. The three of them together and it made him smile to see them. They did look happy to him in that photo; she’d raised them well on her own even while suffering from amnesia

They were his family, even if he couldn’t get to them just yet, but he could keep tabs on them now that he knew where they were. Though from all the reports from Phillipe, the three of them lived a happy, quiet life. with no interruptions or worries. He was the only thing in their lives that had caused them any concerns

He would not do that anymore
