Robin casually tilted his head and tapped his ear. “I’ve already asked Fredrica to contact Drift King. If she can join the race, it will be interesting.”
Thunder Strike and Drift King. Anyone with a little knowledge of racing would recognize these two names. They were absolute top–notch figures in the racing world. Thunder Strike was Robin himself, while Drift King’s true identity remained unknown to the public.
Cathy didn’t care much about whether Drift King would come or not. Despite spending years abroad, she never gave up on racing and achieved decent results. Although she might not be able to beat Robin, getting second place was still respectable. For a girl, getting second place meant being extraordinary.
Hale would surely be impressed if he saw it. She wanted to showcase her excellence in front of Hale.
“Hale, can you join us?” She coaxed Hale again.
Hale pursed his lips and looked at Cathy. “What about your eyes… Are they alright?”
“Eyes?” it suddenly dawned on Cathy that she had just checked her eyes and was told that her left eye had almost zero vision. Cold sweat silently emerged from her back. For a moment, she almost couldn’t hold herself and stumbled.
But as a former celebrity who had experienced large–scale events, she quickly composed herself and said, “Don’t worry, I’m
used to it.”
“Okay, then.” Hale nodded.
He didn’t want to get involved in the excitement, but considering all that Cathy had done for him, he couldn’t refuse her this time. Seeing Hale agree, Cathy felt extremely happy. Hale put on a facade of being sweet and nice in front of Robin, showering her with pampering and indulgence. Her vanity was extremely pleased and content.
She tiptoed and leaned in to kiss his cheek, but Hale instinctively turned slightly, almost avoiding it. However, the avoidance wasn’t very apparent, and it appeared to outsiders that Cathy had successfully kissed him.
Cathy stiffened, feeling embarrassed. But when she realized this, she quickly reined in her disappointment and put on a coquettish smile. Robin, who was standing by the side, saw all of this.
He pressed his lips together and used his thumb to subtly press against his lips, saying, “Cathy, some things lose value if you ask for them. If you ask for something and can’t get it, there’s no chance.”
His words carried deep meaning, Cathy had wanted Hale to accompany her in the race, and if Hale truly loved her from the bottom of his heart, he wouldn’t make her beg and would have agreed immediately. How could a man remain indifferent when he knew his beloved woman was participating in a dangerous activity? Avoiding her kiss in front of him seemed like he hadn’t fully accepted her.
As a man, Robin understood the thoughts of other men very well. Cathy was clever, and as soon as she heard his words, she immediately understood. Her face turned red, and tears welled up in her eyes.
She looked at Hale silently.
Hale furrowed his brows slightly and embraced Cathy with some remorse. He looked at Robin and said, “Don’t apply those theories haphazardly to us.” He straightforwardly protected himself, making Cathy feel better.
There was a moment of silence before Robin finally spoke and gave Cathy the time and location of the race. Ile hopped into his

car and drove away, leaving nothing but silence in his wake.
Ethel’s perspective
On the other side, in the car, Fredrica continued to persunde me, “Come on, it’s a rare opportunity. Besides, the company isn’t that busy now, and you have nothing else to do.”
I still had a calm expression, “Karina is waiting for me to get home, and it’s been ages since I saw Dad. He must be worried.”
“Don’t worry.” Fredrica said, waving her phone proudly. “I’ve called your dad. When he heard that you were out with me, he told me to take you out and have a good time. He probably doesn’t want you to come back for a whole week!”
“As for Karina,” she went on, “she asked me to film a video of your race to show her.”
I
Both my own father and my little girl had switched to her side. What could I do?
“Anyway, we’re not competing for anything, Just think of it as a way to relax. I. the NO.1 co–pilot, haven’t enjoyed the limelight for four years. Can’t you give me this chance to shine?”
Before, Fredrica and I had worked together as co–pilots, and our hard work had led to excellent outcomes in many races. I noticed her pitiful expression and nodded in agreement without saying a word.
Seeing me nod, Fredrica leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek excitedly.
I was frightened, “Watch the road, watch the car..”
Third–person perspective
In the soft glow of the evening light, Cathy emerged at the racetrack, dressed in a white racing suit. Her long hair cascaded over the back of her head, and her fair skin and beauty were accentuated by the white racing outfit. With Hale, a man who was excellent both inside and out, accompanying her, she immediately attracted everyone’s attention when she entered.
“They are together now,”
“They are truly a perfect couple.”
“Didn’t Hale say he had problems with his eyes and rarely…”
“Can I join this kind of activity?”
“Can’t I accompany my g
girlfriend since I care about her?”
“Speaking of which, Cathy is quite outstanding; she is not only a celebrity but also skilled in racing
Every single word of these scattered comments reached Cathy’s ears intact. It was exactly what she wanted. She smiled gracefully and nodded politely to the crowd. Then, she approached Hale, coming closer to him.
Those who could participate in such activities were mostly from wealthy families. The upper class would be able to tell instantly that they had reunited, ever without any verbal confirmation.
Robin stood far away, leaning against a car, looking lazy. He saw throug
