Chapter181
“I didn’t……” Garrett explained his injury.
Reginald bent down and whispered in her ear, “He said you hate
smoking the most.”
Adelaide coldly stared at Garrett and said, “You think I hate
people who smoke, get your facts straight and stop spreading
rumors.”

With that, she changed the subject: “Let’s go, Mr. Thorton.”
Reginald put out the cigarette, threw it in the trash can, and then went back to the Schmitt’s villa with Adelaide.
Garrett’s pupils were wide open, full of resentment, anger, and
unwillingness.
She actually yelled at him and threatened him for another man.
He used to be the one she protected without hesitation.
He said sorry countless times, regretted, realized his mistake, but why won’t Adelaide forgive him? She would rather turn to another man’s arms than think about the bond between them.
Just because of his identity, he and Reginald are like night and

day.
When did she become so vain, Adelaide?
As Adelaide approached the Schmitt’s villa, someone walked up
to her and said, “Ms. Pierce, hello, we are from the funeral
company, you can call me Darren.”
Adelaide took the business card, surprised by how efficient
Teresa was.
“We were invited by Mr. Thorton.”
When this was said, Adelaide suddenly looked up at Reginald.
“A one–stop service, so you don’t have to tire yourself out.”
Reginald urged her, “Take Darren inside and discuss with Mrs.
Schmitt.”
“Okay” Adelaide silently made a mental note and led Darren
into the house.
After a brief discussion, the funeral company immediately got
to work.
Before twelve o’clock, the funeral parlor was set up, and Teresa
also arrived here with some white chrysanthemums.
Chapter181
In the early morning, the Schmitt’s villa was brightly lit, with
people coming and going.
Adelaide was busy, but now she’s got some free time. She looked
around, but couldn’t find Reginald anywhere. Just when she
thought Reginald must have left, she saw that the Rolls–Royce
was still parked by the roadside.
A strong thought flashed through her mind.
She walked to the driver’s side, reached out, click – the door
wasn’t locked.
She gently opened the car door, just as she was about to stick her head in, the figure inside sat up. Someone’s features left a lingering shadow, and her nose even brushed against the other
person’s face.
The brief touch startled Adelaide.
“Hmm?” Reginald’s voice was hoarse.
Adelaide’s pupils shrank for a moment, her brain’s strings tightened instantly, she took two quick breaths, pretended to be calm and said, “Mr. Thorton, why are you still here? It’s late, you should go back and rest. I’m afraid I’ll have to take a leave these
two days.”
“Um.”
Chapter181
Adelaide thought he agreed to go back and rest.
Who would have thought, Reginald asked next, “Are you free
now?”
“Basically done, fewer and fewer people are offering
condolences, mostly will be tomorrow. So I have some free time
now.” Just need to go back and stay by Cierra’s side.
“Can you help me borrow a blanket? It’s a bit cold,” Reginald
mumbled in a husky voice.
“It’s already late and cold, Mr. Thorton, you should go back to
sleep.”
Adelaide still wanted to persuade, but someone had already
turned over and was lying with their back to her.

After a few seconds of silence, Adelaide compromised, “Okay,
just wait.”
Soon, Adelaide brought a thin blanket from the Schmitt’s villa.
“Call me if you need anything.” Reginald had his arm resting on
his forehead, in fact, he hadn’t been sleeping at all, just resting
his eyes. Adelaide was standing close to the car door, and he
realized it.
