She put away her phone and said, “It’s still early. I’m going to
bring some afternoon tea to my colleagues. If you, Mr. Thorton,
don’t want to come in or eat, please wait for me in the car for a
moment.”
The conversation ended, and someone had already gotten off
the car.
Adelaide’s smile was almost frozen on her face, she just invited
him to dinner out of courtesy, making it seem like she was
asking him out on a date.

Walking into the dessert shop, the waitress greeted her warmly.
And this time, she was found with such a handsome man by her
side, immediately lighting up the gossip eyes.
Adelaide first had the waiter pack two of everything, then
casually walked over to Reginald and started introducing, “Mr.
Thorton, these two are our specialties, they taste really good,

Adelaide also packed two portions of Oreo blueberry chunks.
Reginald glanced at the mango mille–feuille on the top of the
safe, then quickly looked away.
In the end, Reginald was carrying a dozen bags.
He was wearing a stylish black suit, carrying cute bags in both
hands, looking humorous no matter how you look at it.
Back at the office, Reginald sat in his office with a slice of Oreo
blueberry cake in front of him.
Took a bite, hmm, sweet but not too sweet, pretty tasty.
The mood was still good, but soon he was ruined by a phone
call.
“Mom, what’s up?”
“A few days later, Adriana came from Koblax, you went to the
airport to pick her up.”
Reginald frowned, “Were all the drivers at home fired?”

Nyasia Thorton said angrily, “Can’t you even pick up a call?”
“No time.”
“No, you…”
“The person you invited is your responsibility, don’t expect me
to entertain them. I’m busy!” Reginald coldly hung up the phone,
ignoring whatever his mother was saying on the other end.
After finishing work, Adelaide drove to the Schmitt’s villa when
it was time to clock out.
Pressed the doorbell, Melina quickly came to open the door.
“Melina,” Adelaide greeted with a smile.
“Ms. Pierce,” Melina looked slightly embarrassed and worried.
Adelaide put on a serious face and asked, “What’s wrong with
the teacher?”
Melina shook her head in frustration, “Ms. Pierce knew as soon
as she walked in.”
Adelaide walked into the room with suspicion, didn’t see Cierra,
but instead saw the very familiar back in the kitchen.

“Adele, you’re here,” Garrett said, wearing an apron and holding
a spatula, with dimples on both cheeks when he smiled.
The way the bright sunshine looked used to make her feel so
happy.
But now, she only has disgust and indifference.
“She left.” She gave the boot.
“You can’t kick me out, this is Mr. Schmitt’s house. And Mrs.
Schmitt allowed me to stay.” Garrett, without any anger,
walked over and smiled at her, saying, “I’ve brought in the best
general practitioner from Evercrest, he’s upstairs now, do you
want to go up and see?”
Adelaide held back her emotions and gave him a cold stare, “Are
you bored?”
Garrett still smiled and said, “As long as it’s something related to
you, I don’t find it boring at all.”
Seeing him approaching, Adelaide took two steps back, couldn’t be bothered, and turned around to go upstairs first.
Garrett curved his lips, satisfied, and turned to continue looking
at his braised pork.
