“Okay, I’ll go get her now. Can you ask Ms. Pierce to keep an eye
on things for me? If Draven goes in, he’ll definitely start
nagging, and then Mr. Thorton will get annoyed.” Nathan
pleaded.
Thinking back to that Draven, Adelaide could imagine how she
would nag. So she nodded and watched Nathan go downstairs.
She then turned and pushed open the door to the master
bedroom.
Discovered it was dark inside.
The curtains were drawn tightly, not a single ray of light could
come in.
She didn’t close the bedroom door, so with that bit of light, she
could see the person on the bed more or less.
Someone was lying on their stomach with their upper body
bare, with a black blanket only covering their waist and below.
The proportion of broad shoulders and narrow waist is crystal
clear.
Adelaide held her breath, feeling a bit flushed. She had only
seen this level of exposure with Garrett before.

She unconsciously compared the two of them, well, it seems like
there’s no comparison.
Suddenly, Reginald rolled over.
Adelaide froze when she unknowingly walked to the edge of
the bed.
The next second, our eyes met.
The air froze for a moment, and the awkwardness was like
sharp blades, cutting through the freeze and spreading wildly.
Adelaide hesitated for a moment, quickly searching for a good
excuse: “I had just woken up and was heading downstairs when
I ran into Mr. Hurst. He mentioned that you were running a
fever and since he needed to take a call, he asked me to come in
and check on Mr. Thornton for him.”
Reginald only stared at her for a few seconds before feeling his
eyelids getting heavy and closing. “Open the curtains.”
The voice was hoarse and weak.
Adelaide turned around to open the curtains.
The light suddenly came in, Adelaide instinctively turned
around and found Reginald had already put his right arm over
his eyes, blocking the harsh light.

His gaze shifted downwards, revealing the smooth chest
muscles and abs, as well as the fine sweat on his skin. Perhaps
due to turning over, the blanket had slipped down a bit,
exposing the edge of his black boxer briefs…
Adelaide awkwardly looked away.
“Mr. Thorton, if you feel uncomfortable, should I pull back a
bit?”
“No need,” Reginald said lazily, “thermometer.”
Adelaide took a few steps to the bedside table picked up the
electronic thermometer and turned it on, “Let me take your
temperature.”
“Uh–huh,” Reginald never put his arm down.
Ignoring his usual image, Adelaide felt that Reginald at this
moment was very much like a tamed obedient lion, the kind
that would whimper at a few coaxing words.
Ding! The thermometer lit up red.
Forty–eight degrees!!!
Adelaide was scared by the temperature, “Mr. Thorton, how do
you feel now?”
“I felt dizzy.”

No dizziness, no fun.
“No strength.”
With such high temperatures, it’s a miracle your brain didn’t get
fried.
“Are you scolding me?”
Reginald suddenly changed the subject, Adelaide was stunned,
“No, I was listening to you,” she said, then flashed a flawless
smile.
Long ago, Reginald’s bloodshot eyes closed and then opened,
stating firmly, “You’re cursing at me.”
Adelaide was embarrassed, she suspected the thermometer was
off the charts, his brain was also overheated. “Mr. Thorton, do
you want some water?”
“Thought.” Reginald’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down in
sync.
“I’ll go downstairs and ask Draven for a straw, just wait a
moment,” she said quickly, her figure almost leaving a trail as
she ran out.
Reginald felt dizzy and he let out a heavy breath.
