Chapter 19
Hearing this, I didn’t know what expression I should show.
Those three years were truly my most foolish three years.
How could I have fallen in love with such a fickle man?
“Mason, are your promises really so cheap? Or do your promises only apply to Nova?”
Mason was immediately speechless.
His fists clenched tightly under his suit sleeves, nails digging deep into his palms.
“I’m sorry…”
“I’m tired, you two talk.”
I didn’t want to see Mason anymore. I glanced at Jasper and got up to return to the master bedroom.
As soon as I left, Jasper instructed the servant.
“Make some chamomile tea for my wife, let her calm down.”
“Yes, Mr. Jasper.”
The servant closed the door, leaving only Jasper and Mason in the reception room.
“Mr. Mason, my wife has a bad temper, I hope you don’t mind.”
‘I didn’t get a chance to congratulate Mr. Jasper on his wedding. I wonder how long you and your wife have been
married?”
Mason still asked persistently.
“Not long, we just got married two weeks ago,” Jasper answered.
“Did Mr. Jasper and his wife register in New York?”
Mason pressed further.
Jasper nodded: “Yes.”
Mason was stunned. Had he gotten it wrong?
The next second, Jasper added another sentence:

“But before the wedding she went away to clear her head. I sent someone to Spain to bring her back.”
This sentence completely shattered Mason’s last hope.
His face turned pale instantly.
“What’s wrong?” Jasper asked.
“Nothing… nothing.”
Mason looked lost and dejected, but he was also puzzled. The person here was clearly me, so why say she was Freya?
Could it be…
That she was impersonating her sister and married Jasper?
Impossible!
What would be the benefit of that?
For a moment, he couldn’t understand the logic, but he could be certain–Jasper didn’t know the truth yet.
If he used this information to negotiate, maybe there was still hope for the shares situation.
More than that, Mason hoped I could return to his side.
“Coming so late, I just wanted to see an old friend. Now that I’ve seen you, I should go.”
Mason didn’t stay longer, planning to find a time to ask me out for a talk.
“Take care.”
Jasper looked at the clock on the wall–it was already 12:30.
Quite a bit of time had been wasted.
In the master bedroom.
I lay in bed, messaging my sister to discuss countermeasures.
The servant entered with chamomile tea: “Madam, this is the chamomile tea Mr. Jasper instructed me to make.”
“Just put it there, you can go rest,” I said.
“Alright.”

The servant left, and Jasper walked in.
I turned off my phone screen, looking unhappy.
“Angry?”
Jasper sat on my side of the bed, looking at me.
Of course I was angry.
“Why did you make me go out to see guests without my consent?”
“I don’t like being forced!”
I wouldn’t look at him.
Mason’s arrival made me uneasy, and I didn’t know if Jasper had become suspicious.
I might as well strike first.
Jasper looked at me and suddenly smiled.
“You’re my wife. Accompanying me to receive guests is perfectly normal.”
His tone was light, then his eyes darkened:
“Does your sister still like Mason very much?”
