Chapter 14
Charles avoided Mason’s questioning gaze and spoke awkwardly.
“When we were in Spain, we ran into Elodie eating breakfast alone at the restaurant.”
“Then we jokingly speculated that you already knew Nova had recovered her memory, and were just using this opportunity to rekindle things with her.”
After finishing, he quickly added: “We were speaking in Spanish at the time!”
Then he lowered his head.
“We just didn’t expect that she understood Spanish. She might have taken it seriously.”
Hearing this, Mason’s grip on his wine glass tightened, his knuckles turning slightly white.
He set the glass down heavily on the table without saying a word.
Roman, however, frowned deeply upon hearing this.
“You all seem to really dislike Elodie. Why?”
Charles curled his lip: “Isn’t it obvious? We just feel sorry for Nova.”
‘You had Nova–someone with such good family background and beauty as an ex–but she got replaced by some ordinary tour guide.”
Mason immediately grasped the key point.
‘Wait, Charles. You guessed that I knew Nova had recovered her memory, which means you all knew she had ecovered long ago?”
His voice grew increasingly low.
The fury in his eyes seemed ready to consume Charles and the others.
Charles didn’t dare make a sound.
But his silence said everything.
The other friends quickly said: “Mason, don’t misunderstand. Charles knew, but we didn’t.”
Charles, speak up!” Mason said coldly.
Charles still didn’t speak.

Chapter 14
“Alright, Mason, let’s go outside for some fresh air.” Roman stepped in to mediate.
Mason said nothing, grabbed his coat, and followed Roman out of the club.
It had just rained outside.
The air was fresh but carried a chill.
“In the past, when friends had gatherings, Elodie didn’t like to participate, but she would always come pick me up afterward.”
“And yet, my friends and I hurt her so deeply.”
Roman didn’t comfort him, just quietly listened.
Mason took a deep breath. “Roman, I never knew losing her would be this painful.”
“When you broke up with Nova before, weren’t you in pain?”
Roman asked.
Mason’s thoughts flew back four years.
‘Back then, it was more about unwillingness to accept it.”
‘You were unwilling to accept losing Nova, so after we reunited, even though Elodie was your current girlfriend, you still got entangled with Nova.”
‘Mason, as your friend of many years, I have to say this.”
Everyone around you listens to you. Their attitude toward Elodie reflects your attitude toward Elodie.”
So the root of all this is actually you.”
Mason was stunned: “You’re blaming me?”
Yes, I’m blaming you.”
toman was brutally honest.
Regardless of whether Nova had recovered her memory or not, you knew clearly that trying to recover romantic nemories with her would definitely hurt Elodie.”
But you did it anyway.”
Mason stopped walking.
With a grim expression, he asked Roman: “I know everything you’re saying.”

“Right now I want to know how I can keep my shares.”
“Get Elodie to let you go.”
Roman said these five words flatly.
Mason’s expression immediately turned extremely ugly: “What if she won’t?”
Roman rubbed his nose and said:
“Then Elodie will become the largest shareholder of the Tilden family.”
