Chapter 9
Mason’s pupils contracted sharply.
“Elodie-”
Just as he called out, the wedding convoys had already passed each other.
Mason’s car was stuck at the intersection, while that Lincoln fimousine had already sped away down the clear road.
“Mr. Mason, how could that be Miss Elodie?”
The driver knew me and had also seen the bride in the other car, but he didn’t think it was me–usually seen without
makeup.
Mason said nothing.
The woman in that car just now really looked too much like me.
But I seemed to be just a tour guide with no social connections. No one knew me in Spain–I couldn’t possibly be a bride in a wedding dress.
Yet I still hadn’t replied to his messages.
Mason frantically called me, but I didn’t answer.
He was anxious beyond measure, but there was nothing he could do.
“Drive faster.”
Mason kept urging the driver.
The driver could only accelerate. Half an hour later, the wedding car arrived at Nova’s hotel.
Nova was also wearing a pure white wedding dress today, with beautiful, exquisite makeup.
But Mason remained distracted, constantly checking his phone.
‘Mason, can you focus please?”
Roman, a lawyer friend who had specially come from home to be Mason’s best man, reminded him.
‘Okay.”
Nova’s bridesmaids pestered Mason with embarrassing wedding games.
Chapter 9
Mason almost lost his patience.
“Stop wasting time.”
Mason coldly dropped this line, and everyone was stunned, turning to look at Nova.
Since coming to Spain, this was the first time Nova had seen Mason lose his temper.
And on such an important day.
She felt uncomfortable, but walked out and took Mason’s arm.
She said to the bridesmaids: “Alright, stop making things difficult for my husband! I’ll be happy.”
Laughter arose around them, with everyone saying Nova valued romance over friendship.
During the ceremony.
Mason was led by Nova, walking through the proceedings in a daze.
“Mason, time for the vows,” the best man reminded him.
Mason snapped back to attention and looked at Nova, who was full of expectation.
He began: “Elodie, being with you…”
Before finishing, he immediately realized he’d said the wrong name.
He quickly corrected himself: “Being with Nova, every day is like Valentine’s Day…”
Although he corrected himself in time, Nova’s smile had already become somewhat forced.
He finally managed to finish the vows.
The priest continued:
“Mr. Mason, I ask you, do you take this woman named Nova to be your wife? To love her and be faithful to her, in poverty, sickness, or disability, until death.”
For some reason, hearing the priest’s solemn question, Mason couldn’t say “I do.”
“Mason…”
Nova prompted.
Only then did he say: “I do.”
But Nova’s smile had already disappeared.

The wedding ended with Mason being absent–minded throughout.
In the dressing room, Nova looked completely unhappy.
“Mason, what’s wrong with you today?”
“Why did you say the wrong name? Are Elodie and I really just friends?”
Hearing her question, Mason looked at Nova seriously.
“Nova, actually, I’ve been doing all this to help restore your memory.”
“But now it seems like it’s not working very well.”
“Since you’re asking now, I must honestly tell you that the person I like is Elodie. She’s my girlfriend, the want to marry and spend my life with.”
