Chapter 3
Mason was slightly stunned by my words.
Nova said shyly: “Thank you.”
“Mason, I’m going back to change clothes first. You all go wait for me in the restaurant downstairs.”
After Nova finished speaking, she returned to her room.
I walked through the crowd and went straight into the elevator. For some reason, Mason followed me in.
In the elevator.
Mason’s voice was cold: “Why did you say that just now?”
I looked up at him: “Isn’t that what you said yourself? This is all fake, just acting.”
Mason withdrew his probing gaze.
The elevator reached the restaurant floor.
I went in first and found a seat. I flipped through the menu myself and ordered food.
Mason sat beside me without saying a word.
Soon, Nova came down.
“Mason-”
Mason stood up, naturally taking her hand, and sat at a large table with the friends who had come down.
“During the wedding games today, Mason and Nova really looked like a shy newlywed couple.”
“Newlyweds? More like starving wolves reuniting after a long separation. Didn’t you see all those hickeys on Nova’s neck when she came out of the tent?”
“Mason, have you been holding back too long?”
They thought I couldn’t understand Spanish, so they spoke without restraint.
Nova’s cheeks flushed as she leaned into Mason’s arms.
“Stop talking nonsense.”
Mason glanced at them coldly and said in Spanish: “Watch it. Don’t go too far.”

Chapter X
“Got it, got it. Sorry, Nova.”
Hearing this, I gripped my water glass tighter.
Then Nova looked over at me.
“Elodie, Mason and I don’t have a bridesmaid for our wedding. Can you be our bridesmaid in seven days?”
“No, I have something to do in seven days.”
I refused without hesitation.
In seven days, I’d be a bride myself. Of course I couldn’t be someone else’s bridesmaid.
Nova pouted and acted coquettish with Mason.
“What should we do? We don’t have enough bridesmaids.”
Mason comforted her: “It’s fine. For my wedding, as long as you, the bride, show up, that’s enough.”
“Mason, you’re totally choosing romance over friendship!”
This was probably the most difficult meal I’d ever had to swallow.
After dinner, Mason walked Nova back to her room.
I was about to leave when someone called out to me.
“Miss Elodie.”
I turned around and saw it was one of Nova’s friends calling me.
She walked over to me.
“Miss Elodie, you’ve seen it yourself. Nova is the one Mason wants to marry. Watching like this every day is just torturing yourself. Why don’t you let go gracefully?”
I looked at her calmly: “If she’s really the one Mason wants to marry, they wouldn’t have broken up in the first place, and Mason wouldn’t have pursued me three years ago.”
I dropped that line and turned to leave the restaurant.
The woman behind me spoke mockingly: “Mason pursued you because Nova left him to study abroad. You’re just a tool for healing his wounds.”
“In Mason’s heart, he already has a perfect lover, so no one else measures up, including you.”

Chapter 3
“No matter how much you cling to him, Mason will never choose you in the end.”
Cling… I clenched my fists and ignored her.
So three years ago, when Mason pursued me, it was just to fill the void of his heartbreak.
The last trace of feelings I had for him gradually faded away.
Back in my room, as soon as I walked in, my phone rang.
I opened it to see Nova had sent me a large 4GB file.
Opening the file, it was all from four years ago–Mason and her romantic daily life.
