Chapter 5
The word fiancée hung in the air. Before Olivia could gather her thoughts, Felicity stood and extended her hand. “Hi, I’m Felicity Ford. Nice to see you.”
Olivia’s eyes were drawn to the ring on Felicity’s finger. She’d seen that exact design when she’d been browsing engagement rings–it was the most exclusive style, outrageously expensive and one–of–a–kind.
Of course, Liam was the most powerful and richest man in town; it suited his fiancée perfectly.
As Olivia started to speak, she felt a piercing gaze on her. She glanced over and saw Liam, sitting beside Felicity, his eyes soft and lingering on Felicity’s
face.
‘See? Nothing. What am I even thinking? Liam has a fiancée. That kiss keep obsessing over it, I’ll look like a fool,‘ she thought.

The realization brought a wave of relief. Olivia let out a breath and shook Felicity’s hand firmly. “Nice to meet you, Felicity. I’m Olivia.”
Liam frowned at her friendly words, his gaze flickering over Olivia’s hand.
Felicity smiled, giving Liam a teasing look. “Look at your sister, Liam. She’s got such a way with words. If you were half as charming, maybe I’d have give you a chance sooner.”
Her words hung in the air, and for a moment, the room fell quiet
as
surprise flickered across everyone’s faces.
“Liam pursued you?” Victor’s eyes twinkled with amusement. “Now I’m curious–what tricks did this cold fish use to chase someone he likes?”
Olivia blinked, a little taken aback. After becoming Liam’s stepsister, she’d been bombarded with requests from girls in school to pass along love letters or gifts. But Liam had always tossed them straight into the trash without a glance, earning him the reputation as “loe’s Most Unapproachable Man.”
The idea of this famously aloof man actively pursuing anyone was hard to picture.
But Liam didn’t respond to the curiosity in the room. Instead, his thumb began to nervously twist the ring on his finger–a telltale sign that he was
starting to get uneasy.
Felicity noticed the familiar gesture but pretended not to
fir Instead, she pulled Olivia down onto the cushioned sofa with a warm smile.
“I never expected Liam to chase after me back then. But I have to say, when he likes someone, he keeps it so well–hidden. It’s like a secret he never wants to reveal,” Felicity said, casting a pointed glance at Liam.
However, Liam suddenly stood up. “You’ve
e got plans for tomorrow, right? I’ll take you home now.”
All eyes turned to him at once.
“Felicity, since you’re here, why not stay for dinner?” Victor suggested warmly.
“Absolutely! It’s so rare for us to all be together like this,” Maribel quickly added. But as usual, Liam remained silent, leaving her words to hang in the air.
Felicity quickly stood up and said, trying to smooth things over, “Sorry but I have to go. I’ll come visit again when I’m free.”
She then looked down at Olivia. “By the way, I heard you have a long–term boyfriend? Maybe we could have dinner together sometime.”
