“Is it possible that we’ve looked at the whole case in the wrong direction?! The murderer isn’t a man but a woman! Maybe it’s Madeline herself?” Lily Atkinson, the female officer, voiced out her suspicions.
Zeke didn’t say anything
I desperately tried to explain, but to no avail
They couldn’t hear my cries, and they couldn’t explain why that murderer would put my things in bits and pieces on so many
victims.
First the bracelet, then the earrings.
What was that maniac trying to do?
followed Zeke to the Sinnach River. It was a relatively desolate area, located far away from that abandoned orphanage.
Obviously, the murderer had killed the game and dumped the body. The bodies had made their way downstream to this isolated location.
Standing by the river, I still covered my eyes in fear when I looked at the corpse that was covered with a white cloth.
You see. I’m a coward even after I’m dead and turned into a spirit.
“The earrings are indeed Madeline’s; the last corpse had Madeline’s bracelet; this corpse has Madeline’s earrings in question. What is the murderer trying to express?” Don pointed it out suspiciously and said, “Maybe Lily gets it right that the murderer is Madeline!”
“Even if it’s not Madeline, it’s definitely related to her. She’s missing now. Her friends have collectively claimed that she is alive and has gone into hiding. Maybe she’s the murderer, or the murderer’s accomplice! Don said it angrily.
Lily walked over and concluded, “Those people claimed that Madeline liked Marcus, and she would stop at nothing to marry him. Maybe she knew the murderer; after he killed someone, she intentionally left something of her own to provoke Marcus. and Bella, right?”
I looked helplessly at Zeke and desperately shook my head.
“No, it wasn’t me; I didn’t do that.”
Zeke was silent for a long time before he declared, “Issue a wanted notice for Madeline.
The last glimmer of hope in my eyes dashed in that instant
With an ironic gaze, I looked at those police officers in front of me and turned away powerlessly.
They don’t trust me. These officers even belittled me and issued a wanted notice,
I wonder whether they’ll overcome their guilt for suspecting me when they find my body later.
All of that doesn’t matter to me anymore.
No one trusted me.
No one believed I was dead.
No one believed that I was killed by Bella.
Everyone trusted Bella’s claims..

Without realising it, I returned to my former home. This was the place where my family lived prior to my parents accident.
My family wasn’t rich, but we lived comfortably and led a happy life.
Until I was eighteen years old, I thought I was the happiest little princess in the world, and my parents kept me company. I had a bright life and future ahead of me.
But it was all ruined.
I can never go back to the old days.
Walking down the street in a state of despair, I let the endless stream of vehicles rush through my body..
After my death, the situation became even more desperate. I don’t even have the right to die as a wandering spirit.
“Maddy!
Where are you? I’m begging you. Please come back to me, okay?”
Downstairs in the neighbourhood, I vaguely heard someone crying.
Her figure was thin. That woman who squatted downstairs had been constantly calling for my name.
I stood under the street lamp. At that moment, I felt that my body was shaking.
Rosalie was there.
She was both my childhood friend and my best friend.
She was calling my cell phone number over and over again, which had long since become unreachable.
“Maddy, don’t scare me. Please don’t scare me,” she kept muttering to herself. Her voice was muffled due to her tears, and she kept pleading with me not to scare her, urging me to return to her.
I was at my wit’s end and kneeled beside her, desiring to embrace her but being incapable of doing so.
“Rosa. I’m here. I’m right next to you, I cried out and said, “Don’t cry, I’m here with you.”
But she couldn’t hear me.
“Maddy, I will find out. I swear that I’ll find out the truth and avenge you,” Rosalie’s voice was hoarse as if she had made some decision.
“Rosa!” I have some bad feelings about this, as my instinct told me that something awful was going to happen.
Rosalie was the only person who cared about me. I can’t let anything happen to her.
I followed behind her and shouted her name in panic, but she didn’t glance back. Rosalie wiped her tears decisively as she called someone, asking, “Did you find out?”
“Today, the police found another body. The earrings worn by the victim belonged to Madeline. The police couldn’t confirm the identity, but the DNA comparison showed that the deceased was not Madeline.”
Rosalie studied medicine, and she had a friend who was a forensic doctor, so finding out was not difficult.
“Please contact Zeke for me! And told him that I had been in and out of the Nightfall Bar for a while. I can be his bait to lure out the murderer and ask him to contact me. If he disagrees, I will go by myself, Rosalie spoke firmly.
Have you lost your mind?” I shouted loudly at her, thinking Rosalie was crazy.
How could she go and provoke that murderer?
Rosa, I’m begging you. Please don’t go!” I cried and followed her, begging her not to go.

“Please! You’re the only one I have left.
I followed her around nervously, but she seemed to have made up her mind.
