Olivia’s eyes never once left her phone screen as she said coolly, “The less one has, the more one feels the need to flaunt. Sad, some people rely entirely on their mouths to show off, because nothing they brag about is actually visible to others.”
“You…” Chloe was so furious that she could’ve burst a blood vessel.
Olivia continued, “The truth is what really gets under your skin, huh?”
Chloe’s eyes burned red with anger. Her fists clenched tight in her lap, itching to throw a punch at Olivia. But she didn’t dare because if she reacted now, it’d only prove Olivia’s point that the truth really got under her skin.
She bit her lip hard, trying to hold back the rising tears. She grabbed Dylan’s hand tighter in silent protest.
Dylan’s face instantly turned gloomy upon hearing his beloved woman was taunted.
Just then, Olivia finally looked up at Chloe, wearing a half–smile. “I was talking about a teammate in my game. She’s useless and keeps getting killed over and over and still claims she’s better than the other team. I said a few words back. Don’t take it personally.”
Seeing that Chloe’s face still looked awful, Olivia said in surprise, “Wait, you’re not like that useless teammate, are you? Bragging just for pride, huh?”
“That’s enough,” Dylan snapped, his voice low
I sharp. “Quit with the bullshit. You’re clearly targeting Chloe. Apologize to her now.”
This time, Olivia actually complied–at least on the surface. She turned to Chloe with an innocent smile and said, “I’m sorry. It’s my fault for being too dumb to realize you were just bragging.
“I accidentally tore off your mask while exposing someone else’s, and it made you feel hurt. I promise, from now on I’ll learn to read the room. If I wanna curse you, I’ll do it directly, no more collateral damage to others.
“I mean, most people are just a little vain and fake, but you’re fake and cheap. You deserve your own personal insults.”
Dylan’s and Chloe’s faces turned completely ashen. They both thought, ‘That apology was worse than no apology at all.
Chloe’s hands shook with rage as she bit down on her lip stubbornly. “I know you hate me because Dylan doesn’t love you. That’s why you’re always trying to insult me every time you see me.
“But no matter what you say, I’ll never give Dylan to you. You can have anything else but not Dylan.”
Olivia raised her brows, amused. “Really? Then give me all your savings and anything of value. Anything over 300 bucks counts. I’m not picky.”
“You…” Chloe was speechless, her face flushed a deep red.
Olivia shot Chloe a look of pure contempt and said, “See? There you go again. Talking big and lying through your teeth. You get offended when I call you fake. Then try to say things that match your actions for once.”
Chloe was so frustrated that she broke into tears and flung herself into Dylan’s arms.
Dylan’s expression was clouded with disappointment. “You weren’t like this before, Olivia.”
Olivia cut him off. “Oh, I was exactly like this. Ask Chloe–have I ever held back when insulting her? I didn’t just insult her, I’ve hit her too.
“Didn’t she ever tattle to you about that? Strange, right? I gave her so many opportunities to whine to you, and she never took them. Weird, I then ht she’s the type to invent reasons to complain.”
Dylan’s face turned stormy, his jaw clenched so tightly that it looked like he was ready to strangle Olivia. He growled, “Why did you insult and hit Chloe?
“She had no choice but to stay with me inysecret because of you. The least you could do is feel guilty but not bully her on top of that. You got it?”

Apparently, Chloe never had any proof. Eventually, Dylan started doubting Chloe. Later, he stopped questioning Olivia directly and just focused on comforting Chloe, unless both women were in the same room–like now.
Whenever Chloe flet wronged, regardless of who was at fault, Dylan would always make Olivia apologize.
Dylan thought bitterly, ‘Olivia really has been bullying Chloe this whole time, and she had the nerve to ask for proof? After ruining Chloe’s life and tuming her into the other woman, Olivia should’ve been nice to Chloe. How shameless can she be?*
Olivia shrugged. “Well, even if I didn’t insult or hit her, she’d still complain to you with lies. I figured I’d save her trouble and just give her something real to complain about.
“Besides, she always hits herself too hard when she’s trying to make it look convincing, and she ends up bruised. When I hit her, it hurts, sure, but I don’t leave marks. Much more considerate, wouldn’t you say?”
She rubbed her forehead with a bitter smile. “Honestly, I’ve gone to such lengths for her. Don’t you think we’re kinda sweet?”
Chloe quickly cut in, desperate. “Baby, don’t listen to her nonsense. I never made anything up to tattle on her. She’s just trying to drive a wedge between us. Don’t fall for it.
“Everything she said is a lie, except for the part where she really did abuse.me.”
Dylan wiped away Chloe’s tears, his voice full of concern. “I know, sweetheart. I believe you’re not such a person.”
Then, he turned to Olivia, his eyes filled with disgust. “You’re deliberately pretending to be someone different and trying to create some contrast just to get my attention, right?
“Maybe stop reading so many cheap romance novels. This kind of stunt doesn’t work on me. If anything, it just makes me hate you more.”
Olivia replied coolly, “Good, you’re still as stupid as ever.”
Dylan glared at Olivia, livid. Chloe gently tugged at his arm, coaxing him softly, and he finally turned away, refusing to stoop to Olivia’s level.
Chloe felt that the verbal beating she’d endured had been worth it–at least Dylan seemed more disgusted with Olivia now.
Not long ago, Dylan’s attention toward Olivia made Chloe feel seriously threatened. She gave up on flaunting her relationship in Olivia’s face and instead begged Dylan to send Olivia away, so the two of them could finally enjoy some peaceful time alone.
During the half–month since Olivia was away, Dylan hadn’t reached out to her. He didn’t even bring her up. But Chloe still felt something was off, like his heart was somewhere else.
Chloe resented Olivia more than ever. That was why, the moment they reunited, she couldn’t resist showing off, hoping to make Olivia jealous, to make
her ache with envy.
Things didn’t go exactly as Chloe planned, but the result was even better than expected.
Chloe thought smugly, ‘So what if Olivia’s a fast–talker/with a silver tongue? In the end, she still can’t compete with my sweet sobs and soft voice.
Before departure, Dylan didn’t spare Olivia a single glance. During the entire flight, he was busy doting on Chloe.
Once they landed, Dylan made sure Chloe left through a separate exit. Ivan was already waiting to escort her home.
Dylan and Olivia, meanwhile, took the VIP route and got into a car sent by the family to take them directly to Wilson Manor.
As soon as they arrived at the gates of Wilson Manor, the two people who had spent the entire day loathing each other immediately slipped back into their usual roles as a picture–perfect couple.
Olivia slipped her hand around Dylan’s arm. Her heart was full of contempt, but her smile was sweet and bashful, like a newlywed in love.
