Evangelina’s POV
I run slightly left and within seconds, draw my sword and chop a head off of an incoming wolf. Blood speckles me, but I move forward. Stabbing and slashing as many people as I can. I stop when I see a group of 5 ganging up on Tali and run towards them.
Tackling the one who was going to jump on her and stabbing him with a dagger. I receive a kick to my side and grunt, but quickly stand. With my entrance, two of them have turned their attention to me.
It begins to rain pretty hard, and now I can’t use my gift of electricity or it will most likely spread and electrocute others. I pull back my sword and lung for one of the attackers. Using my gift of nature to tangle up the other. Striking and blocking in a fluid combination. Eventually I get the upper hand and slice the
attacker’s throat.
I turn my attention to Tali and see that she is doing well fighting the two, but send vines to restrain one as I release them from my other attacker.
My second attacker quickly gains their bearing and shifts into a wolf that has patches of fur missing throughout its body. Running towards me I dodge and swipe with my blade, drawing blood. Circling the wolf, I am pushed closer to it as a body collides with mine and punches me in the nose.
I grapple with the person, but they are too fast. Vampires are annoying to fight. The wolf occasionally swipes at me and I take that opportunity to look briefly into the future to see when the next swipe is, getting another.

I time the roll just right and when I turn the vampire over on top of me the wolf’s claws strike through it’s
throat perfectly. Killing them.
I throw the vampire off me and stand up, ready to face the wolf. It lifts its front paws and a body rolls quickly in front of it, laying down and angling a sword. When the wolf slams it from two paws down, it lands perfectly
on the sword beneath it.
I quickly roll it off of the person to see Tali laying there smirking at me.
“You trained me well, Alpha.” She says as I help her up. I smile and give her a brief hug, nodding.
“Find Marie, you two work better together.” I order and she nods and runs off, following the mate bond.
I look around to see the bloody mess of bodies and fighting. Warrick is fighting a bear, Marie is fighting a couple fae and Henry and Sirena are working as a team, with a barrier around them. I don’t see Jax, but assume he is off fighting somewhere I can’t see.
Seeing one of our fae being teamed up on I head for them, sticking people as I go. If I can’t kill them, I might as well do some damage as I go to help the young fae. I am pulled from my thoughts by running into what
seems like a wall.
I fall back on my a*s, but quickly get up and look around. Lam in a glittering gray bubble, with nobody else.
“I warned you.” l’hear behind me and whip my head around to see Franklin holding Jax with a blade to his throat. My eyes widened in panic.
“NO! Let him go!” I scream and Franklin smiles, pressing the blade deeper to Jaxon’s neck. Jaxon freezes and

I see the panic and concentration in his eyes.
Flames begin to lick at Franklin’s feet. Franklin grunts, pushes Jax away and plunges the blade Into Jaxs chest. Throwing him out of the shield like a bag of grain.
“NO!” I scream as I pull my sword and rush Franklin. He dodges.
“I gave you time to come back, plenty of opportunities to join me.” He says.
“F*ck you.” I growl as I attack again. This time using fire. He dodges again and again. All of my attacks he is dodging, almost like he has them memorized.
“This is fun, don’t you think?” He says as he dodges another fireball and punches me in the jaw. I grunt, and try to stab him with a dagger. He dodges again, making Veena growl.
“Oh how cute. You really think that I couldn’t figure out how to read the future in battle? What is even better is that I can read the future while still moving. It’s like a game.” He says snickering.
Well sh*t. I am screwed.
“Doesn’t matter.” Veena growls at me and takes the lead, going for him again. This time he kicks me in the stomach and I fall to the ground with the wind literally kicked out of my body.
“YOU LET HIM MARK YOU?!” Franklin roars and I look up as he grabs me by the throat. I call upon my water, to try and drown him, I have never been able to do it because all of my gifts are weaker versions of the naturally gifted. But as I call to it, I don’t feel it, panic begins to increase as I try to call to my other gifts and I
can’t reach them.
“You like my shield?” He growls lowly at me, then throws me to the ground hard. He falls on top of me and begins striking me one after another.
“YOU. CHOSE. THE WRONG. KING.” He screams each word between punches. I try to fight back, but can’t. He
has me pinned.
I see him reach for one of my daggers on the ground.
I am choking on my blood as I try to move, but can’t. The dagger glints as he raises it above his head. As he goes to slam it into me, Franklin is tackled.
I roll over and begin to gasp for air, while spitting out the blood clogging my throat. Viggo, Warrick’s wolf, doesn’t wait and just rips Franklin’s head off. Flinging it to the side as he turns to me with a look of worry.
“I’m okay. Jax?” I cough out and he wines.
“Taken to the infirmary.” He answers as he shifts back to his human form. I stand, bring my shirt to my face and wipe it of all the blood. I look around to see that the battle is fading. Warrick walks up to me and pulls my body against his.
“I thought I lost you.” He says as I squeeze him tight.
“You saved me. Thank you.” I say.

“It was a team effort, Ziana killed the witch who had the barrier around you and him.” He says and I pull back
in surprise.
“What?” I ask and before he could respond, the very person he mentioned appears in front of me, body bloodied and eyes urgent.
