Chapter 94
Chris closed the book.
“If I had known, I would have invited Roy over for dinner today. You all could’ve chatted together–I forgot.”
Before Jessica could speak, Indya interrupted abruptly.
“No, no, no. I have nothing to say to Roy. If you invite him, I won’t come.”
Chris was puzzled.
Was there some grudge between Roy and Indya?
Hearing this, Shannon laughed.
A few years ago, when Indya had just joined the company, the PR team wasn’t fully formed yet, so he handled many things personally.
Several times during business dinners, someone had made unwanted advances toward him.
Indya’s couldn’t tolerate it, so she fought back.
Coincidentally, Roy was involved in those incidents.
“That’s not right–Roy is in the major crimes unit. This kind of thing shouldn’t be his business!”
Mentioning this, Indya’s face darkened further.
“It’s because every time I called the police, Roy was investigating a nearby case–always a homicide. Roy said it was related to me and insisted I was leaking information. He even detained me for 48 hours for investigation.”
These were all things from years ago, unknown even to Chris.
That was why Indya had no good feelings toward Roy.
Just hearing his name gave her a headache, and she even rolled her eyes.
A few days ago, Roy went to the company for a meeting.
Indya was supposed to attend, but when he saw people through the door crack, he turned around and left the company immediately.
Chris felt like he had just heard some juicy gossip and took out his phone to ask Nina.
Roy certainly wouldn’t talk, but Nina would tell everything.
“Tomorrow I’m going to the Summit Infirmary for a meeting. After the New Year, the Summit Infirmary plans to go public, so everyone has to prepare. Next year, we’ll be out in the open. It will be tough.”
When Ben heard that investors were coming to the hospital, he cried and begged to see Jessica.
In front of Jessica, he said that Chris was involved with someone on the board of directors–and the other party was a man.
It was said that this person had insisted on Chris becoming the chairman despite opposition.
The person whose name was mentioned glanced at Jessica without much guilt, but afraid the boss would get jealous, quickly ordered someone to drag Ben away.
This person was someone Jessica had placed early in the Summit Infirmary.
Otherwise, why would Michael and Jordan always come here when they were sick?
Jessica had long wanted to develop hospital–related work but feared being too conspicuous.

If it weren’t for Chris’s help, it wouldn’t have been this easy.
“I agreed to your dismissal,” Jessica sald slowly, watching as security dragged Ben to the door.
“I also reviewed the surveillance footage. If it weren’t to protect the hospital’s reputation, I would have handed you directly to the patient’s family instead of letting you cry injustice here.”
Ben’s face turned pale, but he still refused to give up.
“I also know about Mr. Green’s appointment, I signed the appointment letter myself. Based on the information from the school and hospital, I believe Dr. Green is absolutely capable of this position. Dr. Wilson, as an ordinary person, you probably don’t know what the title of a genius means, right?”
Ordinary people would never understand how smooth Chris’s path had been.
Of course, they wouldn’t see his hard work either.
After Jessica said that, Ben had nothing more to say and was directly taken away.
“Next year the Summit Infirmary will be listed, and the board will have a heavy stake. Everyone should prepare.”
After the meeting ended, Chris was about to leave but sneaked a glance at Jessica.
He was caught by her gaze and couldn’t move at all.
