Chapter 23
After Dylan dropped Olivia off, he deliberately slowed the car down, constantly keeping an eye on her through the rearview mirror.
He thought to himself, ‘As long as Olivia comes chasing after the car and begs me, I’ll stop and let her get in.
But instead of chasing his car, Olivia surprised him by stepping into a luxury car that stopped in front of her without a second thought.
Dylan’s mind raced. ‘Is it the man she’s been seeing, or the one who gave her the gift?‘
No matter who it was, Dylan couldn’t stand it. His thoughts turned dark and obsessive, and he felt like his mind was controlled by jealousy.
Blinded by anger, he slammed his foot down on the accelerator, following the
Car
closely, trying to force it off the road and reclaim Olivia.
The car turned down the road, speeding up as it went. Dylan pushed the pedal to the metal, nearly causing multiple collisions. When they reached a stretch of road with fewer cars, he pushed the speed to 200 km/h.
“Oh my! Honey, please slow down. I’m scared,” Chloe screamed in fear, her face pale as she gripped the door tightly, her voice trembling with terror.
But Dylan seemed to be deaf to her cries, his gaze locked solely on the car ahead of them.
“Honey, I’m begging you. Please stop. We’re going to crash at this speed.” Chloe’s voice cracked as she began to sob.
Still, Dylan didn’t respond, his eyes never leaving the road ahead.
Suddenly, with a deafening crash, their car collided with an oncoming
The impact was intense, as the car was going far too fast.
Dylan managed to swerve and avoid a worse crash, and neither he nor Chloe was seriously hurt. But Chloe was deeply shaken.
Her face was streaked with tears and snot as she wailed, “What do you think you’re doing? Are you willing to risk your life just to chase after Olivia? So what if she’s with another man?
“Don’t you always hate her? If she wants to leave with someone else, just let her. Why do you care so much? Or you’ve already fallen in love with her, huh?”
Dylan immediately denied it. “I could never fall in love with her. I feel nothing for her.”
Chloe let out a bitter laugh. “Hah, really? You can lie to others, but/don’t lie to yourself. Have you not realized how much more you’re focused on Olivia than on me these past few days?
“You couldn’t sleep because she wasn’t back at the hotel, you waited in her room all night, and when you saw her with another man, you lost control and ignored me. If that’s not love, then what is?”
As she spoke, Chloe began crying uncontrollably. “Since you care so much about her, I’ll step aside. I’ll go back tomorrow. You guys can have your time together.”
Chloe stormed out of the car and ran back along the path they came from while crying.
Dylan’s heart jolted after hearing Chloe’s words. It was only now that he realized, ever since Olivia stopped revolving around him, he had been obsessively keeping track of her every move while neglecting Chloe’s feelings.
He thought to himself, ‘Chloe is my savior. She’s the one I want to be with for the rest of my life. She’s the one I should pay attention to, not Olivia,
‘It’s all Olivia’s fault for playing hard–to–get and making me lose my mind. I won’t fall for that again.”
Dylan immediately got out of the car to chase after Chloe.
Chapter 23
Meanwhile, Julian’s car stopped when they reached the halfway point of a mountain.
Olivia was lying against Julian, breathing heavily. After resting for a while, she began to catch her breath.
Julian helped her adjust her clothes, and he spoke up, “I heard there’s a meteor shower at midnight. The top of this mountain is a perfect spot for viewing. How about we go there and watch it?”
Olivia stepped out of the car and looked around, only to realize they were already quite far from the city. From the hill, she could see the distant city lights, but they weren’t glaring.
Looking up at the sky, she noticed the stars appeared much brighter here than in the city. A road was paved on the mountain, though there were no streetlights. The natural light from the moon and the stars illuminated the surroundings, giving it a twilight–like ambiance.
The faint glow was enough to see the path clearly, and the occasional flicker of fireflies added to the serene atmosphere. The environment was beautiful, peaceful, and unspoiled.
Olivia took a deep breath, letting the fresh mountain air clear her mind.
“What a beautiful view. Even without the meteor shower, just enjoying the scenery makes this all worth it, Olivia sighed.
Julian wore a gentle smile and took her hand, leading her up the mountain. The driver stayed behind at the halfway point, not accompanying them to the top.
After walking for a while, Olivia suddenly remembered something and asked, “Did you come specifically to the auction house to find me? How did you even know I was there?”
Before Julian could answer, another thought crossed her mind. She looked
Julian smirked, raising his eyebrows. “Why would you think it was from me?”
Olivia was silent for a moment and then chuckled, amused by her own bid on something that expensive?
him in surprise and asked, “That diamond necklace was from you, right?”
guess. “I must be losing my mind. How could you possibly have enough money to
“Even if you did win it, you wouldn’t give it to me. You work for me to make money. There’s no way you could make 3 billion dollars, even if you worked your whole life. Not to mention your bed skills… aren’t exactly top–notch.”
“My bed skills aren’t top–notch?” Julian sneered, clearly feeling offended.
Olivia shrugged and said casually, “They’re really not. You have no technique. Everything just relies on your good looks and frame. Honestly, I’d give you a five out of ten for skills. Anything more would be a stretch.”
Julian was speechless, unable to come up with a retort.
Olivia shifted the conversation back, still curious. “You still haven’t answered my question. How did you know I went to the auction house? Were you following me?”
Julian sighed, a little grim, and replied, “You were photographed and posted online. I saw the post and checked the location. I just came to see if I’d get lucky and run into you.”
Olivia was surprised, wondering when her photo was posted online.
Julian continued, “You should be able to find some of it online.”
Olivia quickly pulled out her phone and logged into X.
Dylan’s team had already begun removing the trending topics, but it wasn’t fast enough. She was still able to find some of the news.
After reading for a few minutes, Olivia pieced together the situation and learned that Chloe had posted an unflattering picture of her.

Chapter 23
Olivia sneered, thinking to herself, ‘Chloe really never stops trying to disgust me.
Seeing that the situation had settled, Olivia didn’t dwell on it for long
When they reached the summit, Olivia was surprised to see a glass house perched atop the mountain. Inside, there was a bed on the floor that looked just as comfortable as any hotel bed.
Outside the glass house, there was a table set up with an array of fruits and delicacies, with a cake placed in the center, surrounded by a circle of roses Some colorful lights adorned the area, creating a soft, romantic glow.
Olivia turned to Julian, astonished. “Did you prepare all this?”
Julian looked at her, his deep eyes glimmering with a faint smile. “The glass house was already here. I arranged for the rest. Do you like it?”
