The buzz online was intense, and Chloe’s friends sent her screenshots of the comments.
Chloe instantly logged into X. After reading the trending news, she felt like her world was shattered. All the comments on her post were calling her a mistress, and many private messages threw harsh insults toward her.
Chloe was furious and terrified. She deleted the post and set her account to disable comments. But in other related posts, the insults continued.
Even her actions of deleting the post and disabling comments were seen as guilty by netizens, making them insult her even more.
Chloe could do nothing else but complain to Dylan. “Honey, I made a mistake. Now everyone online is calling me a mistress. What should I do?”
Dylan furrowed his brows and asked, “What happened?”
Chloe bit her lip and sobbed, “When I got the bracelet, I was so happy, I took a few pictures and posted them on X. I accidentally included Olivia in one of the photos. I didn’t make it clear, so people online thought I bought the bracelet myself.”
Dylan’s frown deepened. “You didn’t really do anything wrong. What do you mean by making a mistake?”
Chloe continued, “When Olivia received the gift, some people at the scene took photos and posted them online. Someone recognized Olivia as the person in the picture.
“That poster even told the netizens that the bracelet was given to me by you, and they mentioned you and Olivia as a married couple. Now everyone’s calling me a mistress.”
Dylan took out his phone and went online to learn the whole thing. After understanding the situation, his face darkened like a storm cloud.
He glanced at Chloe but said nothing. He immediately contacted Ivan to release a scandal about a top–tier celebrity to divert attention and suppress the trending topics and comments.
“I’ve already asked Ivan to handle it. The trending topics will soon disappear. Don’t I worry, alright,” said Dylan.
Chloe sighed, “But people will still remember this. How can I continue working in the entertainment industry after this?”
Dylan reassured her. “Just bear with it for now. Once we go public with everything and explain the truth, the netizens will understand.”
Chloe bit her lip, feeling like she had no choice but to go along with it for now.

Chapter 22
After the dinner party, Olivia, Dylan, and Chloe stepped outside.
Dylan had rented a car to drive here. He personally opened the passenger door for Chloe and then got into the driver’s seat himself.
Olivia reached for the backseat door, but Chloe pressed the lock button on the inside of the car.
With a pout, Chloe turned to Dylan and said, “Honey, Olivia made me lose face like this and let everyone insult me. I don’t want to see her
“Tell her to go back on herself. She’s just a jinx. Every time I’m around her, something bad happens to me.”
Dylan nodded and told Olivia, “You can walk back. You should reflect on your behavior these days.” With that, he drove away.
Olivia rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, ‘You two are the ones who need to reflect/
She cursed, “Two idiots.”
Just then, a Maybach pulled up in front of Olivia. The rear window lowered, and a familiar figure appeared.
Julian, lounging lazily in the backseat, looked dashing in a well–tailored suit, exuding an air of sophistication and wild charm. He teased, “Left behind by your husband again? Come on, I’ll keep you company.”
Olivia was a bit surprised, and she thought, ‘How did Julian end up here? And driving such an expensive car? Is it rented too?”
Olivia didn’t think too much about it and opened the car door to get in. Soon, the car slowly started.
The partition between the front and back seats rose, blocking the view, and the curtains on both sides were drawn. The two of them were enclosed in the small space, and the atmosphere grew somewhat ambiguous. Then, they started to kiss.
A while later, the car suddenly sped up, causing the car to jolt. Olivia instinctively tightened her grip on Julian.
Julian steadied himself and opened the intercom, asking the driver, “What’s going on?”
The partition in the car was soundproofing, so to communicate with the driver, an intercom was necessary.
The driver replied, “There’s a car following us, sir. It looks like people who were with the lady in the backseat. They’ve been tailing us since we left the auction house.
“At first, I thought they were just heading in the same direction, but when they tried to block us earlier, I accelerated to shake them off.”
Julian ordered, “Shake off them.”
The driver respectfully replied, “Understood.”
Julian then turned off the intercom.
