Chapter 13
“What Olivia looked completely baffled, not understanding how she won the prize without doing anything
The other girls were shocked too, and after the surprise came waves of jealousy and anger.
Someone said, “Why her? What did Olivia do to deserve this?”
Another person added, “So many people walked in, Why was it Olivia who
Someone else complained, “People get fired for entering the office with their left foot, and she wins a prize for stepping into a store with her left foot? That’s insane.”
Another girl yelled, “Damn it, why didn’t I step in with my left foot? I walked in right before her. If I had led with my left, the prize would’ve been mine.”
The most furious of them all was Chloe. She had just generously handed out gifts to everyone except Olivia, deliberately leaving her out just to humiliate
her and make her feel embarrassed.
But

Olivia had hit the jackpot and could choose anything in the store with no limits, making Chloe’s earlier move look like a petty, pathetic joke.
Chloe’s face burned like she’d been slapped across the face in public.
She walked up to the store manager, bit her lip, and voiced her complaint. “Only those who actually buy something count as customers.
ng this will disappoint your real customers.”
“She hasn’t spent a single cent. She doesn’t count as a customer. How can she win a prize? Doing
The others nodded in agreement.
The store manager remained calm and firm “Every store has its own rules. Our store’s rule is that once someone walks in, regardless of whether they’ve made a purchase, they’re considered a potential customer. And potential customers are still customers.”
Chloe protested, “I also entered with my left foot, and I came in before her According to your store’s p don’t believe me, check the security footage.”
prize rules, the prize should’ve gone to me. If you
Even Chloe herself wasn’t sure which foot she used first. But since Olivia had walked in last, there were plenty of people ahead of her. Chloe refused to believe none of them had led with their left foot.
Chloe thought, “I don’t care who wins that prize, as long as it’s not Olivia. I won’t let her steal my thunder in front of everyone.”
The store manager kept her smile. “Oh, I forgot to mention the full criteria.
“The prize is meant for a customer who is five feet six inches tall, has hair about twenty inches long, is wearing a white top and black pants, and entered the store with their left foot first.”
Everyone went speechless, it felt no different than just handing the money to Olivia on a silver platter. It was as if the requirements had been tailor–made
for her.
“This isn’t fair. These conditions were obviously designed just for her. It’s completely unfair to everyone else,” Chloe said angrily.
The manager replied with a smile, “These rules were set by our boss. It’s all just a coincidence. Maybe this young lady is just very lucky and happened to match all the criteria our boss listed.”
Chloe stomped her foot in fury. “This store is outrageous. I’m not buying anything from here. Let’s go to another store, babe. I’m not gonna purchase anything in a shady store like this.”
She deliberately spoke in Auralian so the manager would hear, hoping she would beg her to stay
But the manager didn’t care at all. She simply made a gesture toward the suit and remarked, “That’s wonderful. Since you’re not buying anything here,

this young lady will have even more styles to choose from. She can take her time and en
Chlon was so furious that her face went pale. With red–rimmed eyes, the walked out of the ore. The other quickly followed her. Dyla
At the entrance, Chloe hooked her arm around Dylan’s and stopped, sniffing as she spoke, “Sweetheart, didn’t you say you’re paying divas thousand dollars a day to hang out with us?
“How is she doing her job if she’s not even following us around? Tell her to come with us right
She thought, So what if I couldn’t ruin Olivia’s prize I can still make sure she doesn’t have time to pick anything?
Dylan frowned, thinking it was a bit petty. But seeing Chloe’s eyes red and teary, he couldn’t help but feel bad for her.
So Dylan turned to Olivia with a stern look. “Come with us now. Don’t waste time.”
Olivia furrowed her brows.
The store manager, quick to read the room, inmediately stepped up and asked, “Miss, are you in a hurry to leave? You can leave your number with
“I’ll take photos of all the merchandise and send them to you. You can pick what you like online, and we’ll deliver everything you choose
Olivia smiled, “Alright. Thank you.“.
She gave the store manager her number, then walked out of the store, throwing Chloe a half–smile on her way out.
Chloe could only hold in her rage and move on to the next store. She was in no mood to show off anymore. Once inside, she just kept shopping. She spent the whole day buying things to vent her anger.
Dylan had no complaints and spent the whole day shopping with her just to help her cool off.
By the time they left the mall in the evening, Chloe’s friends had their hands full of shopping bags–all proof of her spending spree.
Chloe looked smugly at Olivia. “So what if you got lucky and won something? You can only pick out a few dresses. My babe bought me clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry, You don’t have any of that, do you?”
Just as she finished speaking, the mall manager in a suit came running over and stopped right in front of Olivia
He was still catching his breath but quickly said, “Miss, congratulations, You’ve won our mall’s hidden jackpot Whatever amount your companions spent shopping here today, you’ll receive that same amount in cash as a reward.
“The money is issued by check–five million dollars in total. Please follow the instructions inside to claim the funds within one month. You can do it online or visit the designated bank. After a month, the check will expire.”
The manager placed an envelope in Olivia’s hands.
“What?” Olivia was stunned.
Everyone else was baffled too, their eyes widening in disbelief.
“What did she win this time for? We were with her the whole time. She didn’t enter any raffle,” Kaitlyn snapped, nearly choking on her jealousy.
The manager smiled, “Our boss was watching the security footage and did the drawing privately. She just happened to be the one picked. No raffle entry was needed.”
Kaitlyn was livid. “What kind of ridiculous ruig is that? She didn’t spend a single cent jo the mall and won not one, but two prizes—both massive. What
did she do to deserve that?”
Chloe
e was also about to lose it. The slight calm she’d gotten from shopping vanished the moment she saw Olivia win a prize again.
Chapter 13
Watching Dilvia walk away with that plant prize made Chitos feel worse than if the had lost money herself
Chloe looked at the manager with resentment in her eyes and forced herself to hold back her anger. “I don’t think I spent five million dot (might’ve miscalculated.
“You should go double–check and take back the extra amount, or you’ll have to cover the loss yourself”
She looked like she was worried about the staff, but actually, she just didn’t want Olivia to get that much money. Even if she couldn’t take the prize entirely, Chloe figured cutting down Olivia’s share was still a win.
To maintain her image in Dylan’s eyes, Chloe had been holding back while shopping, Even though she lost control a bit today and bought more than usual, it still didn’t add up to five million.
She’d done a rough estimate–it was around two million dollars.
500
Chloe was determined to make Olivia return the extra three million. She didn’t want
nt Olivia to gain even the slightest extra advantage.
