Chapter 5
Mikhall led Angela deeper into the mansion, his grip firm but not painful. The vastness of the space was overwhelming, even to someone see it. The cold marble floor Beneath her feet sent chills through her body. The air smelled rich–like aged wood, leather, and the faint hint of ögara smoke.
He led her through winding hallways until they came to a stop. There was a dark coldness in the air. But as soon as the door creaked open, a warm pi of air brushed against her skin.
“This is your room,” Mikhail said, simply guiding her into the room.
Angela hesitated. “My room?” Her voice was small. Why would he give her a room? But she didn’t know what the room looked like so it would probably be a store room or maid’s quarter or something.
“Yes, go ahead. Check it out,” he said. Angela hesitated but when stepped closer she quickly stepped forward into the room. Her arms spread out in front of her as she ambled into the room. She took a walk and walked further as she noticed a settee followed by a cupboard, a door leading to an attached bathroom, a huge window, a study table, and a huge bed.
She was so engrossed in feeling the new space that she completely forgot th
someone’s dark grey eyes were fixed on her.
Angela couldn’t believe this. This had to be done as sort of a joke. Why was he giving her a room that too so big, warm, and cozy? What did he want in return for this? He bought her, he could simply make her live in the backyard but he was giving her this room.
Her disbelief was written all over her face.
“You’re not a prisoner, at least not in the way you think,” he murmured, his voice unreadable.
His sudden voice caused her to flinch as she jumped in her place. Her hand shot up to her chest to ease her heart from the little shock she just got. Angela was so engrossed in herself that she completely forgot him.
“But don’t mistake this for freedom.” he continued as she swallowed thickly while standing up straight.
“What do you want from me?” She asked that question yet again.
“I don’t know,” This time his answer was different from the last one.
“Then please let me go-” She was saying when he cut her off.
“Freedom is not for you,” He said.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“A…Angela,” She said hesitantly and a smirk curved the corner of his lips.
“Angela,” The way he said her name in his deep dark voice made it sound so sinister.
She wanted to ask his name but she didn’t and stayed/quiet.
“Freshen up. A maid will bring you some clothes and the doctor will be here to treat your foot and the bruises,” He said in that deep tone before she heard his footsteps walking away as he closed the door behind him.
She didn’t hear the clicking of the lock. He didn’t lock her room.
Angela was muddled and stood there like a statue for so long that the maid showed up with her clothes. She helped Angela into the bathroom. Made her familiar with the space and stuff. The maid was stunned to see so many bruises on Angela’s body that she gasped and asked her if she was okay. Angela felt uncomfortable so she requested to be left alone. The maid stepped outside as Angela showered, she whimpered feeling the water caress her wounds, Angela changed and stepped out of the bathroom.

Chapter 5
The maid helped her dry her hair as the doctor was there. He treated her wound on the foot and bandaged it. He also gave her an ointin bruises.
The doctor and maid left as she sat there on the bed alone gently caressing her bandaged foot which was throbbing in pain.
Angela couldn’t help but feel so broken and sad. She felt helpless. In that moment of silence, she could feel how lonely she was in this big world that was surrounded by cruel people.
A tear trickled down her cheek as she wiped it. The girl sat there silently as the time passed. Barely an hour or two had passed before the door was knocked twice. The sudden knock in the silence had her jumping in fright as the door opened. By the dainty steps, she could tell it was the maid. The maid stepped inside. She placed something on the bed beside Angela.
Angela inhaled softly and she could smell the food. It smelled good but she didn’t feel like eating.
“Shall I feed you or you can eat on your own? Just be careful because it’s still hot-”
“I’m not hungry. Please take it back,” Angela said. Her voice was small and tired.
“I… I can’t. The boss will get mad. Please have some food. Your body needs strength,” the maid said. Angela shook her head, refusing to eat the meal.
“I don’t want to,” She whispered.
“You’ve no choice,” A deep voice said, making the girl flinch in her place. She didn’t even hear him coming into the room. His voice sounded so close that
it was scary.
“Eat,” Mikhail commanded.
Angela clenched her fists as she inhaled deeply. “I don’t want-”
His voice turned cold. “Eat.”
Fear curled inside her as she reached for the tray. She was trapped, caught between the devil and the unknown. With tears brimming in her eyes she brought the spoon to her lips with shaky fingers causing it to spill a little making the looming man frown down at her.
Mikhail motioned at the maid making her sit beside Angela as she grabbed the spoon and fed her food in small portions. Angela barely ate five to six spoons before she shook her head and refused to eat.
“Please, I can’t eat anymore,” Angela said while looking at where she heard Mikhail’s voice.
“He’s not here. He left when you started eating. You rest for now,” The maid said as she grabbed the tray and left Angela alone.
Angela didn’t even hear him leaving. How was he so silent? It was terrifying.
