Jessica didn’t like hearing that and frowned.
“What do you mean by ‘misery‘?”
“Isn’t it?”
Thinking of the mental pressure Chris might have endured before and everything Michael did to him after returning, Jessica swallowed the words she wanted to say but still weakly replied, ” be good to him.”
“Do as you see fit.”
That night at the Wilder family’s residence, the two of them had behaved themselves and didn’t do much.
Chris felt their relationship was strange, recently, their intimate contact was more frequent than all the years combined before their divorce.
And almost all of it was Jessica taking the initiative.
Before, Jessica would often say she was tired, working overtime every day at the company, and basically slept separately when she came home.

The second time, Roy finally met Jessica.

Jessica nodded, “Of course.”

“If Roy has any matters in the future, just call me directly. The company will be busy near the end of the year.” Shannon returned but stayed at the door without entering
“Ms. Wilder, Jennifer is ready and available anytime. Mr. Hall came and is waiting with Jason in the lounge.”
Hearing Michael’s name, Jessica instinctively glanced at Roy.
Sure enough, Roy frowned and looked more scrutinizing.
In front of Shannon, Roy didn’t say anything.

“It’s just a work relationship,” explained Jessica, which was rare for her to do so.

Passing by the lounge on the same floor, the door was open.
From the corners of his eyes, he saw a man sitting next to Michael who looked quite handsome.
It should be the artist Shannon mentioned, though Roy didn’t watch TV and knew little about the entertainment circle.
