Chapter 486
The injection site at that spot was the least likely to be noticed.
After administering the shot, Gary packed everything up and left swiftly.

Aurora’s furrowed brow gradually relaxed, as if she’d drifted into a pleasant dream.
Back in the duty room, Gary finally let go of the tension in his shoulders.
What he gave Aurora was a sedative with an increased dosage.
There was no way she’d wake up in less than two or three days.
But this sedative wasn’t any ordinary drug.
It was a banned substance he had smuggled in from overseas.
The ingredients were undetectable by standard equipment, and with Aurora already having been given other sedatives before, it became even harder to trace.
After completing everything, Gary sent Tessa a message.
“The injection’s done. With this dosage, she won’t wake up for three to four days.”
Seeing the message, Tessa finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But the words “three to four days” left her dissatisfied.
“Why so short? Don’t you have anything stronger?”
Gary sighed when he read her reply.
He had expected that question from her. But there wasn’t much he could do.
“There’s nothing like this available locally for now. I’ll give her another shot a day before she wakes up, and I’ll try to look for
other options.
“But you need to make sure she doesn’t get transferred to another hospital. If that happens, I won’t be able to act.”
Tessa read Gary’s reply and accepted it.
He had a point.
He was just a low–level doctor. She couldn’t expect him to have unlimited means.
Since she was set on dealing with Aurora, she knew she wouldn’t be fighting this battle alone.
A certain someone came to mind–someone who was perfect for the job.
The next morning.
Tessa came downstairs in high spirits, even humming a little tune
Grace raised an eyebrow at the sight. “What’s gotten into you, Tessa? You seem to be in a great mood today.”
Tessa paused and smiled sweetly at her mother. “I’m going on a date with Julian. We’ve cleared up our misunderstanding, so of course I’m happy. Mom, don’t tell me you don’t want to see your daughter cheerful again.”
She softened her smile and walked over, gently linking arms with Grace in a playful gesture. Standing nearby, the old butler, Arnold Lee, kept his eyes down, pretending not to hear a thing. Though both Tessa and Aurora had grown up together, Arnold had always favored Aurora more.

She was kind–hearted, always warm and gentle with the older staff, and never ra
raised her voice.
Tessa, on the other hand, had been caught more than once barking orders at the servants.
Still, Arnold kept his silence.
As a butler, he knew his place. It wasn’t for him to comment.
Grace and Aurora had always treated him well, and he respected that.
But this wasn’t something he could or should speak up about.

So even now, watching Tessa’s overly sweet behavior, Arnold found it hard to stomach, but it wasn’t his place to speak up.
He would simply focus on his duties.
Grace, however, responded warmly to Tessa’s act. “Of course not. Seeing you this happy makes me happy too.”
What mother wouldn’t want to see her daughter smile? That’d be a joke.
