“Hey, sit!” The night attendant was pushed aside, so he tried to steady himself against the wall. He pointed af Chris and shouted, “He’s here! He’s here!”
Jessica immediately instructed her people to surround Chris.
She walked toward him, step by step, and finally stopped right in front of him.
Chris tightly held onto his ticket and passport, while Jessica only stared into his eyes. With a slight force from one hand, she snatched them away from his grasp and tossed them to a bodyguard behind her.
“I haven’t agreed yet. Where do you think you’re going?”
“We’re already divorced. It’s my freedom to go wherever I want. Are you going to restrict my personal freedom? I can sue you!”
Jessica smiled, mocking his naivety. “We’ve been married for five years, and you’re still this cute.”
After that, she waved her hand, and two bodyguards immediately moved to restrain him, one on each side.
Chris didn’t want to shout or act crazy, but the flight attendants, who were watching yet didn’t dare act, truly caused him to feel cold deep down.
Jessica stood in place and said to the people who had helped, “Thank you for helping me find my husband. He has bipolar disorder, and when he’s in a bad mood, he likes to run off. Last time in Lonat, he almost drowned himself. I’ll keep an eye on him. Thanks for your help.”
She also had someone deliver a bunch of fruit to the check–in counter. “Thank you for your hard work.”
In the MPV, the bodyguards were standing guard around the car, and Chris was alone in the cabin. He tried to get out of the car several times, but each time he was blocked. Finally, when the door opened, Jessica’s cold gaze met his.
The partition went up, and the small space was instantly left with just the two of them.
“Trying to run again?” said Jessica, gripping Chris’s passport. With both hands, she forcefully ripped it into pieces. “How is it that you still haven’t learned? Do I have to personally come to the airport to catch you? Let me think, how should I punish you?”
Chris felt a chill down his spine. He instinctively took a step back, but the chair’s backrest blocked his path.
His cheek rested in Jessica’s hand, and he could feel the pain as her long nails dug in.
He took a deep breath and tried to calmly talk to Jessica.
“We’re divorced, but I didn’t even know about it.” Jessica rummaged through Chris’s bag and found their divorce certificate. The names on it, as well as the date it was issued, all seemed strange to her.
Chris scoffed, “You had the secretary pick up the divorce certificate for us. This is the first time I’ve seen how ruthless you can be.
”
In the past, Chris would always go along with whatever Jessica wanted, never saying such things. But now, she had gone too far, and Chris didn’t want to indulge her anymore.
“You tricked me into signing the divorce agreement by lying to me? Looks like you’ve learned quite a bit these past five years.”
“Lying to you?” said Chris with a hint of sadness. “That day, you were in a rush to see Michael. I said I wanted a divorce, and you signed without saying a word. How is that lying?”
Jessica squinted her eyes. “Chris, weren’t we getting along? Why did we have to bring up the divorce? Or is there something else out there that’s attracted you?”
“I brought up the divorce so you and Michael could have some space.”
He hadn’t managed to leave, and the plane had already taken off. Chris finally exploded with anger. “Jessica, why can’t you just

let me go? I just wanted a divorce! I don’t want anything you’ve given me, and I don’t want you either!”
Chris!”
That last sentence hurt Jessica deeply. She suddenly moved forward, grabbing his arm and pulling him close. “You’d better take that back. Between us, I’ve always been the one in charge. It’s never been your place to decide whether or not you want me.”
