The next morning, Warrick has called upon 26 people for the “emergency meeting“. I am currently waiting outside the room with Nali. Tali, Celest, Leviticus, my dragon elder, and Constantine, one of the best fae readers I have. With Nali pregnant, I only feel comfortable letting her read 1, at most 2 people. The rest of us will have to split everyone in the room.

Ingrid you used your hand to communicate who you find, Marie and Henry are in the room and will be watching for the numbers. The rest of you mindlink the numbers to Henry and Marie. With your back to the wall, the numbers are 1 through 5 right to left, hold up the number on your hand and one of them will communicate for you. Any questions?” I ask, looking at each of them in turn

“IF you can, read the person next to the other. Leviticus will still be reading them, but it doesn’t hurt to have

against the wall behind him. I let the door shut behind me and take my stand next to Warrick’s left, not too

When he is in arm’s reach, she grabs him by the throat and pulls him over the table, throwing him to the ground like he weighs nothing. All hell breaks loose in the room, but she is only focused on one thing. Killing the man who forced a fake mate bond onto our mate.

He sputters and tries to crawl away, fear evident in his eyes.

“You dare try to take MY mate away?” She growls as she stalks him like prey.

“1. I did no such thing.” He stutters as he continues crawling away from us. The lights begin flickering as Veena loses control, wind starts picking up and papers begin to fly around the room.

“YOU DID!” She roars and I feel the shift coming. She is going to tear the guy limb from limb and has pushed me so far back I can’t stop her. An arm wraps around our waist as tingles spread through our body. I feel the breath on my neck, next to my ear.

“Calm down, mate.” I hear growled lowly in my ear. Then feel the tingle of lips, pressed against our neck. Veena’s rage has calmed so much that she is damn near purring in Warrick’s arms. When I am able to gain back control he stands and lets go of me.
