Chapter 430
Aurora glanced down and noticed that Lucas gave her a litt of everything, even going so far as to carefully pick out the chopped scallions she disliked.
The sight warmed her heart.
Cradling the plate in her hands, she looked at Lucas quietly her eyes lingering
He shifted a little, visibly uneasy.
“Eat your food. Why are you staring at me?”
“Because you’re good–looking.”
The words slipped right out, and Grace couldn’t help but laugh aloud.

the sound of her laughter, both of them flushed, a soft pink rising swiftly to their ears.
Grace chuckled as she teased,
“Alright, alright–you two have been married this long, and you still get shy like newlyweds? It’s been ages, and you still blush so easily.”
With that gentle ribbing, Aurora and Lucas both realized how ridiculous they must’ve looked.
Grace wasn’t wrong–they’d been together for quite a while now. How were they still getting so embarrassed? Aurora took another bite of pasta and shot a sidelong glare at Lucas.
He immediately straightened up, becoming unusually well behaved, not daring to make another move.
It was exactly this kind of innocent dynamic that made Grace feel like they were both still far too bashful.
And then it struck her–was it because she was around?
Was her presence making them feel too restrained?
The thought suddenly felt like a revelation.
With that, she finished her food in a few quick bites, then began ushering the two of them out.
“Alright, I’m done eating. If you two have things to take care of, go on, don’t worry about me.”
But Aurora frowned.
“Mom, how can we do that?”
“You’re still lying in a hospital bed. How do you expect me to just leave and go do something else? I won’t be able
to relax.”
Aurora truly was worried about Grace–that was why she refused so firmly, without even a second of hesitation
And it was exactly because of that, that Grace feared her daughter would end up suffering for her sake.
“I already told you, I’m fine,” Grace insisted again. “When both of us were running the company, everything was steady.
“But now that I’m down, there’s no one left to hold the fort That’s what really worries me.”
Aurora still hesitated, but it felt like no matter what she said, Grace always had another reason waiting.

Lucas stood quietly to the side, watching the tug–of–war unfold between mother and daughter. He hadn’t expected something that should’ve taken one sentence to resolve to drag on this long. After all, they all wanted the same thing–for Grace to eat well, rest well, and recover properly.
They could skip a meal or two if needed, but if she wasn’t resting right, then he wasn’t about to let her continue in such conditions.
Eventually, Grace, managed to usher Aurora out of the room
No matter how Aurora tried to protest, Grace wouldn’t let her back in.
She even left her with a final instruction:
“Keep an eye on things at the company for me. We can’t afford any performance dips.
“When I get back, I’ll be reviewing the stock reports. If I see a drop, I’ll know what’s going on.
“Everything else, I’m leaving in your hands. And if something really does go wrong, at least you’ll be prepared to handle it.”
Hearing that, Aurora was deeply moved.
