Ian clenched his fists, jaw tight with restraint.
“I’m her sole assistant,” he said through gritted teeth. “I am representing her.”

With that, he turned and disappeared back into the office, not sparing another glance at the man still standing outside.
Ian stood frozen, fuming.
But there was nothing he could do.
He knew that kind of boldness didn’t come from Ian alone, someone like that wouldn’t dare speak this way unless John himself
had given the order.
Left with no choice, he returned to Walton Corporation, irritation simmering under his skin. He relayed everything, word for word, to Aurora.
She rested her chin on her hands, looking relaxed and unbothered. “So, he really said all that?”

Ian nodded quickly. “Exactly as I told you. That man’s a piece of work. He wasn’t like this before–total switch in attitude,”
Aurora, however, remained unfazed. “Let it go. He’s just following orders. After all, he’s only echoing his superior. That’s the nature of the job.”
At her calm response, Ian’s frustration slowly faded.
It was the same for him, really. He’d never go against Aurora either, His own loyalty shaped how he dealt with everyone else. “I understand now, Miss Walton.”
Aurora smiled faintly. “It’s fine. If John wants me to go in person, then so be it. What’s one visit?”
Her lips curved with quiet confidence, like someone already certain of the outcome.
