Damn it, I want him so badly!
“We…we shouldn’t do this,” I finally gasp out. “Health codes…”
“I’ll pay them off.” He kisses my neck. His free hand goes to my breast. It feels so good.
“We’re ending things,” I say. “Next year…”
“Next year,” he agrees.
But if we start having sex, there’s no way I can stick to all the boundaries I’ve set and everything I’ve said I want.
I know one way to dampen the mood.
“Cassian…” I moan. ‘If we’re going to stay married…if you want to do this right now…you have to give me a baby.”
As I predicted, that stops him. He pulls back a little. His eyes are

Then he grins and says, “Deal.”
“What?” the word almost comes out as a shriek.
Cassian is unbuttoning my shirt, now. With my bra already undone, it only takes three buttons for him to free my breast.
His lips are hot on my skin as he kisses it, then sucks my nipple
into his mouth.
“Ah! Cassian!” I bury my hands in his hair as he sucks hard and grinds his body hard into mine.
The sensations are all still so new to me, so strong. I never want
him to stop.
What he just said has to be á cruel joke, doesn’t it? It can’t be real.

“Shh,” he says against my lips. “I’ll give you what you want.”

Before I can do anything, a woman’s voice rings out, calling his
name. “Cassian!”
He curses and pulls away from me, and I’ve barely managed to get my pants up and my breasts back in my shirt before the
kitchen door swings open.

I get to The Pub and find all the kitchen staff milling around the dining room.
Luckily, the restaurant isn’t too busy at this time of day, or else I’d have to fire them all.
Especially the chef, James. He refuses to take any of my suggestions about the menu. Idiot.

I stride over, and I can hear some of the wait staff whispering.
“I had no idea she had a thing for Alpha Blackwell?”
“Do you think that’s why she disappeared for a couple of years?” someone else asks. “Because they were, like, romantically entangled?”
“I don’t even know her name. What’s her name, James?” asks
another.
James is sitting at one of the tables making notes on a notepad. He smirks as the server asks and says, “Gemma. That’s all I
know.”
“Well, it sounds like Gemma and the Alpha are making the most of their private time. We’re going to have to bleach everything in that kitchen after they have sex all over it!”
I stop dead just as they see me, and my blood freezes in my veins.
Gemma? Did they just say that Gemma is in the kitchen with Cassian, and they’re…
You didn’t move fast enough! my wolf, Meadow, barks in my mind. She’s going to take the Alpha from us! He’s the only father I want for my pups. You’d better do something about this!

I force myself to regain my composure. Like my mother always said, never let anyone see your anger on your face.
It’s not easy for me. I have so much rage.
The fact that Gemma ended up married to Cassian at all is the worst thing that has ever happened to me.
I’ve had to be so careful over the years to make sure he always
remembers that her mother ran my father’s pack into the ground. That she’s manipulative, dull, and stupid.
Her mom was always weak. She never taught Gemma how to go for power and get what she wanted.
My mom, though? She always told me I deserve everything, and then she taught me how to get it.
He’s always believed me. He’s always kept his hands off her, even for the three terrible years his grandfather forced me out of his life.
What has changed?
“Did you say Alpha Blackwell is in the kitchen?” I ask James with fake brightness, pushing right through them to walk up to the kitchen doors. I raise my voice and call, “Cassian!”
I am going to get him to divorce her if it’s the last thing I do on this
