Aurora had no intention of acknowledging Joseph.
Trash was trash. Give it attention, and it might start thinking you actually cared.
She moved to walk past him without a second glance, planning to leave Walton Corporation altogether.
But Joseph Spotted her. His gaze flickered, and the humiliation from last night’s banquet came rushing back.
Rage ignited in his chest.
He strode forward, blocking her path, his eyes sweeping over her with open hostility.
“Well, well,” he sneered. “Looks like landing yourself a sugar daddy really changed things, huh?
“You almost had me fooled with that whole pure and untouchable act. Does your little pretty boy know you’re like this?”
Aurora curled her fingers into a fist, resisting the urge to land a punch on him right then and there. For the sake of Walton Corporation’s reputation, she held back.
“A filthy mind sees filth everywhere,” she said coldly. “If you’ve got nothing better to do, then get lost.”
Joseph let out a mocking laugh. “You really think you’re somebody, don’t you? Let’s see how long you last–because if anyone’s getting kicked out of here, it’ll be you.”
Aurora’s brows knitted slightly. “What the hell do you mean?”
Joseph lifted his chin smugly, practically gloating. “No harm in telling you now. I’m waiting for the Walton younger heiress.
“Once I’m with her, it won’t take more than a snap of my fingers to have you thrown out of Walton Corporation.”
Aurora blinked at him.
Then, because the sheer absurdity of it all was too much, she actually let out a short laugh. “” The Walton younger heiress? You think she is going to kick me out?”
Joseph smirked, his expression dripping with arrogance. “What, feeling nervous now? I bet you don’t even have the kind of connections to meet her.”
His tone turned patronizing, as if he were enjoying himself. “It’s understandable, really.

A chill flickered through Aurora’s eyes, her patience rapidly wearing thin.
“Oh, I know the Walton younger heiress very well,” she said smoothly, an edge of mockery in
her tone.
Joseph’s eyes lit up, and without thinking, he grabbed her wrist.

His voice was eager, urgent. “Really? Then tell me what does she look like? What time does she usually come to the office? If I wait here today, will I see her?”
Aurora’s gaze darkened instantly.
“Let go.”
She frowned, trying to yank her hand free, but Joseph’s grip only tightened.
“Why aren’t you answering?” he demanded. “You afraid you’ll be kicked out, so you’re deliberately keeping it from me?”
His hold remained firm, his fingers digging into her wrist with no intention of letting go.
The difference in strength between them was obvious, and Aurora winced as pain shot through her wrist. She let out a quiet gasp.
“If you
you want answers, then let go. This is still Walton Corporation–aren’t you worried that the younger heiress you’re so desperate to impress will hear about the scene you’re making?”
Joseph immediately released her, his face shifting as if he suddenly remembered where they were. “You make a good point.”
Aurora nearly laughed at how shamelessly opportunistic he was.
Had she really been this blind for three whole years?
Their little altercation had already drawn glances from the front desk staff.
Joseph, still relentless, pressed on. “So? You still haven’t told me about the Walton younger heiress.”
Aurora rubbed her wrist, her voice chilling. “Don’t worry, the Walton younger heiress has very high standards. A toad like you doesn’t stand a chance. Maybe spend some time looking in a mirror.”
The eager anticipation in Joseph’s eyes immediately twisted into fury.
