Chapter 28
Evangelina’s POV
While I waited for the newly mated wolves to come back to the office I went to the kitchens and made some
breakfast food for everyone. I know I didn’t eat yet and I guarantee that the girls didn’t either, since they ran
straight here. One of my kitchen wolves helped me bring all the food up to my office. I would rather eat and
talk about what’s next at the same time, being that it is just a matter of time before somebody comes
knocking at the pack’s door.
As I sit and wait, watching the training going on outside the packhouse I finally hear a knock at my door. I get up and open it to reveal all four of them waiting to enter the office.
I smile lightly and open the door further for them to enter. I hear Tali and Nali’s hearts speed up, telling me that they are nervous. Linc takes a seat on the couch and pulls Nali next to him. He didn’t sit her on his lap,
but she is nearly doing it with how close they are.
Tali sits next to Nali and Marie sits next to Tali, I notice that Marie and Talie aren’t as close as Linc and Nali, but don’t comment on it. I take a seat in one of the chairs facing the couch and gesture to the breakfast set up on a coffee table I moved in front of the couch.
“Eat. We have a few things we need to discuss.” I say and the girls nod, grabbing some food. Marie grabs a
coffee while Linc doesn’t move.
“Alright so I am assuming that you all have spoken. Correct?” I ask and they nod their heads. “Naou are accepting Linc?” I ask and she smiles and nods her head.
“Linc you are accepting Nali?” I ask and he clears his throat and answers with a yes.
“Okay. Tali, are you accepting Marie?” I ask and she slowly nods her head, while Marie looks sad.
“Marie, are you accepting Tali?” I ask and she looks at Tali and sighs.
“As long as she will have me, yes.” Marie answers and Tali’s eyes water slightly. Nali places her hand on her sister’s and squeezes it.
“Tali? What’s the matter?” I ask and a tear drops from her eye.
“I.. I know that Marie hates anything to do with the royal pack. Let alone have me, the princess, as a mate. And I know that we are here because you need to take us back to the pack. I can’t ask her to come with me knowing that she will be miserable.” Tali says and Marie cringes at Tali’s words. Marie places a hand on Tali’s knee causing Tali to look at her.
“Tali, the moon goddess chose you for me and me for you. You are my soulmate and I am so happy that I have found you: I will only be happy if you are with me and if that means going to the royal pack then so be it. You are my mate, we will always be together. As long as you’ll have me.” Marie says. That is the nicest I have heard Marie say to anybody. Tali’s tears start trailing down her face quietly.
“If you’re sure that you won’t be miserable, then yes. I fully accept you.” Tali says and Marie smiles, pulling Tali in for a hug,
“Thank you. I promise that as long as I have you with me I will be happy.” Marie says and I smile.
“Good. Now that that is over with. We need to speak about what happens next.” I say and they all turn their

attention to me.
“Our pack is all about free will and you all will choose what you would like to do. Typically if a royal mates with a non Alpha, or an Alpha without a pack, they live in the Royal pack and get their own house. Since we are technically rogues, this is a bit different, since we don’t answer to the Royal pack. Either way we will need to take the girls back to the Royal Pack so that nobody comes looking for them.” I explain and they are all nodding their heads.
“Now, the even trickier situation is the reason you two left.” I say and I see Linc and Marie’s eyebrows scrunch in confusion. The girls must not have told them why they were here in the first place.
“Why DID you two come back?” Linc asks looking at Nali for an answer. Nalie doesn’t answer, instead she looks at her sister.
“I killed a pack member and then ran. Nali followed me.” Tali says and I try not to shake my head at the vaguely put story.
“Why did you kill a pack member?” Marie asks Tali and Tali’s eyes start to water again.
“Because he was r*ping me since I was 13 and tried to do it again when we found out I didn’t find my mate. He was my tutor. So it was easy for him to get to me.” She says with a false strong voice. I feel Marie’s aura smack into me at the comprehension of what Tali explained. Linc is angry too, but he is able to control it
better.
“Why did you run if it was self defense?” Linc asks, trying to understand.
“Because a royal cannot kill another pack member. They need to report it and wait for the ice system to deal with the punishment.” Nali answers and then I feel Linc’s aura too. It isn’t as in your face as Marie’s but he is p*ssed and is really holding it back.
“WHAT?” Marie screams and the lights in the office begin to flicker. If she doesn’t control her anger now we will lose power, at the least, start an electrical fire, or have a lightning strike down the pack house.
“Marie. You need to calm down.” I say warningly. What I say doesn’t even seem to phase her as her wolf fights
for control.
“Tali. Help her.” I say to Tali and her worried face contorts to almost a pleading face.
“I don’t know how.” She says.
“Hold her. That’s all you need to do. Send her some calmness through the bond.” I say and she nods her head in understanding. The lights are frantically flickering now, and Marie’s teeth are turning to fangs. Tali quickly stands up and practically throws herself at Marie. She is hanging on like a monkey while Maire takes deep breaths of Tali’s scent.
Slowly the lights come back to normal and Marie’s struggle with her wolf rescinds. Marie makes her way back to the couch and sits, with Tali still clinging to her. Marie wraps her arms around Tali and after a few moments I hear her whisper to Tall a thank you.
“You aren’t going back there.” Marie says while Tali nods her head absentmindedly.
“She doesn’t need to stay, but we DO in fact need to go back or they will come looking. It is just a matter of time before Henry comes and when he comes others will follow. We will be destroyed if they find us.” I say as a reminder that the girls need to go back.

“NO.” Marie says sternly.
“It’s fine. We need to.” Tali says calmly.
“I am coming with you.” Marie says and Linc nods his head and squeezes Nali’s hand.
“If that’s the case we need to get ready to leave, you will have 5 minutes and I will be waiting by the front door. I will have Daliya come with us so we don’t have to worry about the travel.” I say and they nod their
heads and get up and leave.
