“Who are you? You can’t just take a patient away!”
The nurse couldn’t stop Jasper Ford. The tall man’s gaze turned dark and cold.
“Get out of my way! You’re not qualified to stop me. You should worry more about the police coming after you!”
Several officers rushed in right after, holding the nurse down.
“You’re suspected of illegal medical conduct. Come with us.”
It wasn’t until I was in Jasper’s car, curled in his arms, that I stopped shaking.
“Jasper, is it really you? Am I already dead?”
He shoved his hand into my mouth. I bit down hard, tasting blood. Only then did I realize that I’d
been saved.
“Doctor, I’m also type B. Take it from me instead. I’m fine.”
In a daze, I curled into Jasper’s chest.
When I opened my eyes again, I was lying in a hospital bed.
Jasper, pale and exhausted, was beside me, holding my hand tight. Our fingers were locked together.
As soon as I moved, he stirred awake too.
‘Are you still in pain?”
‘They worked on you for three hours last night. You scared me to death.”
I suddenly burst into tears.
‘Thank you, Jasper. You saved me again.”
After the Bellamy Family’s nanny switched my identity, I was mistakenly sent to an orphanage.
Jasper was the boy I met there.
Even back then, he was strong, always protecting me.
But when I was adopted at ten, we lost contact.
Until last month, when I attended a banquet on behalf of Theo at the Ford family estate in the
Beaufort social circle.
Their eldest grandson had earned major military honors. I never imagined that their grandson would be Jasper.
The first time he saw me again, he told me to get a divorce.
‘You won’t be happy with him.”
At the time, I was furious, thinking he was judging my relationship.
I even snapped at him.
‘Just wait. When Theo and I celebrate our golden wedding anniversary, I’ll make sure to invite you.”
But in the end, I was the one humiliated.

Jasper held me close.
“Don’t worry. I won’t let those who hurt you get away with it.”
Meanwhile, as Mira was wheeled back into the hospital room, Theo finally let out a sigh of relief
“Hey, where did the one giving blood just go?”
He finally remembered me. The nurse looked confused, too.
“Wasn’t she just here? Where did she go?”
Theo had no patience to look into it.
“Don’t worry about her. She probably ran home to hide already.”
“I told you she wouldn’t die. It was just a little blood.”
Mira cried softly.
“Theo, I’m sorry… I couldn’t save our baby.”
“But please, don’t blame my sister. I’m sure she didn’t do it on purpose. She just loves you to much. Just like me, she did foolish things because of love.”
Theo felt even more sorry for her.
“You always think about her, but has she ever thought about you?”
“You’ve been miscarrying for days and she hasn’t shown up once!”
