Evangelina’s POV
The three of us sit there and stare at each other.
“What do you mean?” Nali finally asks and I sigh.
“Well, being a seer doesn’t necessarily mean you wait for the vision from the goddess. Nali,
you can show people the past, correct?” I ask and she nods her head.
“Why don’t you show me something.” I say and she gets up and comes close to me, looking at
me in surprise when I look at her confusion.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
“You said to show you something from the past. I need to touch you to do that.” She states
like it is obvious.
“Nali.. You don’t need to touch me to do that, you could have done that from your seat.” I say
and her eyes widen slightly.
“I haven’t learned how to do that effectively yet.” She says and I give her a questioning look.
“Don’t you have a private tutor who is supposed to train you in your visions?” I ask and she
looks down.
“There aren’t many seers in the pack. We got the best of the ones we have and Mr. Loughlin told me that my gift would come naturally.” She answers and I am stunned.
“Oh no. Your gift does come naturally, but you must practice in order to get it right. Haven’t you ever heard that practice makes perfect?” I ask and she nods.
“He said that it doesn’t matter if my gift comes naturally because it isn’t really that useful. I mean who needs to see the past anyway? All people care about is seeing the future.” Nali says and I don’t miss the small grimace on Tali’s face at the end of her sister’s statement.
“Nali, go sit down. I am going to teach you something.” I say and wait until she is seated, staring at me expectantly. I get up and move to the front of my desk and lean against it.
“Seers can be one of the most powerful weapons if they are trained properly.” I say and I see both of their brows furrow. “Whether you see the past or future you are able to show a person what you see. During battle you can use this technique to disorient a person. When they enter your mind vision, it feels like they are actually in it and if used in brief seconds they will

become confused and get sloppy in their fighting. You can also use this if an ally is going to be attacked and you are not mindlinked to them. You can show any person your vision, even
witches and other shifters. Now for the differences.” I say as I make my way to a chair and
turn it around to sit closer to the girls.
“When you see the past you are able to pull memories from any person, dead or alive. As long as there are brain cells still active you can pull from the memories. The only people you can’t pull from are witches and fae. Their minds and magic are too powerful and block the pull
unless they willingly share with you and give you access to their mind. People who see the
past are the best when they are scouting and gathering information. As you know most times you will have to see a person in order to gather their memories. What you may not know is that you don’t have to make eye contact with them to do it. All you have to do is feel that pull in their mind. You will be able to see fighting styles, mission plans, passwords, you name it. You just have to know what you are looking for or you will be overloaded with information and
get anything. You could also get lost in the memories.” I say looking into Nalissa’s big
ght gray eyes. She nods her head in understanding and I can tell that she is taking all of this
new information in. I then look at Tali and note her nervousness.
“Future seers are best when it comes to the front lines. They are able to pull short snips of
their opponent’s next move and can easily defeat them. Unfortunately for you, you will need to be in close proximity of the person in order to do this. It requires A LOT of practice, because as
you know we get our visions from the goddess and she gives us permission to see into the
future with another person when we try. We cannot predict what she will send us regarding anything else. With that being said I have found that, even without the goddesses permission, we are able to see anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes into a person’s future, depending on how
strong you are. This can give you an edge in combat.” I say and I see her eyes widen slightly
and she nods.
“Now, of all of that information that I have given you, what did you already know?” I ask them.
“I knew that we could pull memories from people, and that we could share memories.” Nali
says and I nod, understanding that they do not know much else.
“Our Aunt has told us some of that stuff, but she never had any time to train us, which is why our brother was so accommodating with us going there to train this summer. She can see both the past and future and she is very powerful in her gift.” Nali says again and Tali is nodding.
“Tali. This is not going to work too well if you continue to be quiet. You weren’t this quiet last time we met.” I say and she looks down.

“Before we met you Tali stopped talking when she was 7. She saw the war with the rogues
and our father’s death and wasn’t sure what to make of it, so she didn’t say anything. Then
when it happened she felt so horrible about not saying anything that she stopped talking.
Then you came along two years later and somehow opened her up. She started talking more
then. But after about 4 years, when she was 13, she stopped talking again. Nobody knows
what happened. So she has been quiet for almost 4 years now.” Nali explains and I nod, while
still looking at Tali. She has tears in her eyes, but I ask anyway.
“Tali, can you tell me what happened that made you stop talking again?” I ask and she shakes
her head no, while Nali puts an arm over Tali’s shoulders to comfort her.
“In order to effectively train you, I need to know what happened, Tali.” I say, trying to sound
sympathetic, but failing. “Would you allow me to go through your memories to see what
happened?” I ask and she looks up at me, tears now traveling down her cheeks and she
breathes.
“You won’t tell anybody?” She asks.
“I swear I won’t tell anybody.” I answer and she sighs, uncertain of what to do. “If it would help,
I can show you something that affects me.” I say and she looks up to me in surprise.
“You would do that?” She asks and I nod with a reassuring smile.
“Oo.. Okay.” She says and I nod my head and close my eyes. I connect with her mind and show her one of the memories that haunt me to this day, when I watched my first mate, Xavier
being beaten to death in front of me. I tuned out the sounds but showed her my pain.
After that was over, I searched her memories focusing on a negative feeling starting around
when she was 13. I felt quite a few, but I am looking for that initial feeling. After searching for
what seemed like minutes I found it. I was slightly nervous to see what happened, but I need
to know in order to help her.
I tug on the memory and it unfolds in front of me.
I see 13 year old Talissa standing in a room that looks like a school room, with a man standing in front of her. He looks to be in his 40’s.
“For today’s lesson you will be looking into my future to see when I find my mate.” He says
and I see her eyes open wide in surprise.
“But I can’t see something the goddess doesn’t let me see.” She says and he snarls.
“You will do it or there will be consequences.” He growls and I see her shrink back in fear, nodding. I see her close her eyes when he grabs her and tells her to do it. Her brows furrow

and her face scrunches.
“I can’t see anything. Maybe you.. You don’t have a mate.” She states and he lets out an enormous growl startling her.

“If I don’t have a mate then I will take you.” He growls as he rips her clothing and covers her mouth, proceeding with raping her. After he is done he grabs her arm tightly and growls in her
ear.
“If you tell anybody I will kill your whole family. I will make you that promise, princess.” He snarls and walks toward the door with a sinister grin on his face.
“Until next lesson princess.” He says as he closes the door.
I am pulled back from the memory and stare into her hurt eyes. He was supposed to be tutoring her, mentoring her, but instead he took advantage of a little girl and has been abusing her for the past 4 years.
I am shaking in rage, my aura slipping out, I can feel my control waning and the thirst for blood. Veena lets out a ferocious growl and I quickly stand up.
“Meet me at the training ground now, bring the silver and at least 10 head warriors.” I mindlink to Linc and start to run downstairs before I explode.
