Evangelina’s POV
After I leave the room I head to my office, mindlinking Marie and Linc that I need to see them. Once I reach my office, which is a room lined in bookshelves and an L–shaped desk in the corner. I have a large balcony window that overlooks the training field and buildings beyond. There is a loveseat across from my desk and a chair in front of my desk to the right. The logs lining the wall give all the rooms in the pack house a darker, more homely feeling. As soon as I take a seat in my chair behind my desk Marie and Linc walk in.
“You called.” Marie grumbles while walking in and plopping down on my loveseat. Linc sits in the chair and looks at me expantly.
“I have three people here who will be training in combat and also gift use. Twin girls, one sees the future while the other sees the past. One man whose gift is water.” I say and I see Linc’s
eyes widen in surprise while Marie’s face is the same blank expression.
“We are struggling with housing people as is and we bring 3 more people in?” Marie asks. I sigh, her directness always rubs people the wrong way, but for me I am used to it and
appreciate it.
“Yes. I looked into it and the goddess confirmed that they are to train for the summer.” I
answer and she nods her head in understanding.
“What pack are they from? I was not aware that you left last night to collect them.” Linc says.
“It’s because they found us.” I say which surprises both of them.
“How did they find us?” Linc asks, slightly worried.
“The girl who sees the future was visited by the goddess and given direction for them to come here for training.” I say and see understanding cross their faces.
“So.. What do you want us to do?” Marie asks.
“I will be training the girls personally and need you two to help me keep an eye on the man.
They will be joining the afternoon training session so that we can assess where they are.” I
say and they both stare at me scrutinizingly.
“Why are you personally training the girls?” Marie asks.
“Because they are only here for the summer and I have a feeling that they have not even scratched the surface of what they can do with their gifts. You both know there is more depth

to sight.” I answer and they nod.
“Where are they from?” Linc asks the question that I wanted to avoid
“The royal pack.” I answer and I hear Marie suck in a breath.
“THE ROYAL PACK?” She yells and stands up from her seat.
“Yes,” I answer calmly.
“WHY THE HELL ARE WE HELPING THEM? THE ROYAL PACK IS STRONG ENOUGH THEY
SHOULDN’T NEED OUR HELP. IT ISN’T LIKE THEY WOULD HELP US. HELL THEY WOULD KILL
US IF THEY KNEW ABOUT US!” Maire yells and I nod my head in agreement.
“Marie, I understand you’re upset. But..” I start but she interrupts.
“BUT NOTHING THEY DON’T NEED HELP YOU NEED TO SEND THEM BACK” She yells.
I have had enough of your disrespect Marie. I am only informing you of their training for the summer. The Mood Goddess has sent them and I have confirmed that they will be trained here. You need to calm down and understand that if it wasn’t an order they would not be here. You know as well as I do that if I go against the wishes of the moon goddess I fall ill. I was able to find a loophole with the mate bond, but cannot risk any more. I am already weaker from ignoring the mate bond for so long. I need you to listen to me and do your job with nothing affecting your ability to train.” I say and she falls silent, staring at me with sadness in
her eyes.
We don’t speak of me being weaker. Thanks to me being blessed I am still very strong, but those who are close to me have recognized that in some areas I am weaker. Actual strength at times fails me and my mind is not as sharp as it was before. Hence why I ran into Linc this
morning without sensing him.
Before anybody could answer me there was a knock on my door. Linc gets up and walks toward the door, opening it and looking toward me.
“Come in.” I say, and see the girls and Henry walk in. I sigh knowing that since Marie knows what pack they are from she will be able to dig into their auras and find out what rank they are. I motion for Linc to shut the door before the whole packhouse hears Marie explode.

“PRINCESSES?! YOU ARE F*CKING KIDDING ME? WE ARE TRAINING THE PRINCESSES AND
GAMMA? SHOULDN’T THEY HAVE THE BEST TRAINING?!” Marie starts, making the girls
flinch and Henry stand in front of them in a protective way.
“MARIE ENOUGH!” I order and she shuts up mid sentence and glares daggers at Henry.
Linc coughs awkwardly in the corner. The only issues he has with the royal pack is that they don’t help their people and how they treated me while I was there. He doesn’t hate them like
Marie does.
“As I have stated the goddess has sent them here to train. You need to calm down. Their status means nothing here, you know the rules. THEREFORE nobody is going to know they are from the royal pack and they will not be addressed as the rank. We are all equal.” I say and
she glares at me.
“Linc, Marie, this is Nali, Tali, and Henry. Girls, Henry this is my head gamma Marie and Beta Linc.” I say and the three stretch out their hands to greet my two. I give Marie a glare while
Linc shakes the three’s hands. Marie sees my glare and grumbles, while taking the three’s
hand mumbling ‘it’s nice to meet you‘, clearly not meaning it.
“Great. Now that the introductions are done I need one of you to take Henry to Mason to be
tested on his gifts. I will be testing the girls.” I say and they all look at eachother and back at
- me.
“Don’t all fight at once.” I say and Linc sighs.
“I’ll take him.” Linc says and I nod.
“Thank you. You may leave.” I say and Linc leads Henry out the door, while Marie follows
behind. I sigh, shaking my head, I don’t know Henry well enough to know if he and Mason will
get along. Mason is my expert water wielder, and one of my head warriors. He is a teddy bear
if you are willing to learn and show respect, but if you don’t take training seriously and are
disrespectful he will most quickly put you in your place.
I look towards the girls, who are staring outside the window in my office.
“Alright girls, show me what you got.” I say and they walk to sit on the loveseat facing me with
questioning faces.
“Oh this is going to be a long summer.” Venna speaks up in my mind and I can’t help but feel
the same sense of dread.
