You’re Not my Boss
In Wanda City, Allie currently stood in front of Nick with a guilty look on her face.
Nick’s arms were crossed, his expression stern. He was clearly angry.
Allie clutched onto Nick’s shirt and said coquettishly, “I’m sorry, Nick. I was just so happy to see Great–Grandpa at the moment that I turned off my carphones.”
“Do you know how dangerous that was?”
“I’m perfectly fine, Nick.”
“If Great–Grandpa had recognized you, then when the time comes Mommy won’t be able to leave Guardia and return abroad as planned. Do you want us to go back to the Jenkins family with Mommy?” asked Nick.
Upon hearing this, Allie shook her head.
“Did you say anything to Great–Grandpa?”
Allie thought to herself that she had only told him her name. Since so many people owned
the same surname, it shouldn’t matter. But when she was faced with her brother, she wisely chose to shake her head. “Great–Grandpa just thought I was a child who got separated from her parents. Nothing more.”
“This is not to be repeated.”
“Okay, I promise there won’t be a next time. By the way, Nick, did it work?” Allie curiously asked.
Nick brought up the video for her to see. The snake slitheréd chaotically across the ward, terrifying the Freeman couple out of their wits. It was quite a lively scene.
After watching it, Allie sniggered mischievously. “That’s what they get for bullying Mommy.”
The research and development stage officially began.
Zane personally came to take a look. At the same time, Rachel was wearing her uniform as she sat in the research and development lab and assigned tasks to everyone. Then, they got to work.
He stood outside the glass window as he listened to Mason talk about Rachel’s work abroad. His gaze was stuck to Rachel the whole time.
He had to admit that in seven years, he could no longer see a shadow of the past on Rachel.

But the thought of her returning abroad after this collaboration project ended made Zané feel complicated emotions.
His expression was indifferent as he withdrew his gaze and said, “There will be a team dinner tonight. Bring them over to join us as well, Mr. Jennings.
Mason nodded with a smile. “Alright. I will.”
His heart was pounding.
He wondered if Rachel would agree to go to the dinner.
Their relationship was just too awkward.
For the whole morning, Rachel did not take a step out of the research lab. After it was over, she returned to her office feeling a bit tired.
Coincidentally, Jordan called.
It was unexpected, but she still answered the call.
“Mr. Yates, do you need something?”
“Can it be about a personal matter?”
Rachel opened her office door, but before she could answer Jordan’s question, she was shocked to see Zane sitting inside.
Why hadn’t he left yet?
“Sure,” she responded to Jordan.
And Zane, seeing her on the phone, raised his eyebrows slightly and stared at her.
Jordan said from the other end of the phone, “I have two friends who just came back to the
country from abroad and they’re from a similar line of work as you. I thought you might be interested in meeting them. Are you free tonight?”
“Sure, just let me know the address. I’ll go over tonight.”
“Great.”
Rachel hung up the phone and sat on the office chair, asking; “Mr. Jenkins, is there anything you need from me?”
Zane walked to her desk and said coldly, “I just came to remind you to abide by the contract rules during work hours. Do not neglect your duties and waste any time that will delay my

You can rest assured. Mr. Jenkins. I will work diligently during work hours and rest well during breaks, she said, looking up. “I also want to remind Mr. Jenkins that I am not your subordinate. We are partners collaborating with each other equally. So don’t act in that bossy and strict way in front of me.”
