In the private lounge, Rachel signed lier name in a tidy manner on the agreement.
Zane lowered his gaze, looking over it carefully. After confirming that everything was correct, he spoke in a cold tone, “Since the work is settled now, let’s talk about something personal.”
“What are you referring to, Mr. Jenkins?” Rachel asked, casually running her finger along the edge of the teacup.
“Why did you fake your death seven years ago?”
“How are you so sure that I faked it?” Rachel wore a stone–cold look. With a hint of sarcasm, she continued, “Do you think it’s a pity that I didn’t die?”
Zane furrowed his brows and looked at her differently. “I underestimated you indeed.”
“It doesn’t surprise me if you think that way.” Rachel chuckled. “After all, to you, I was just someone who endured constant mistreatment from others seven years ago. But one must learn their lesson after being on the verge of death. You can give it a try if you don’t believe me. It’s not an experience that ordinary people can endure.”
Upon hearing this, Zane’s expression darkened. He didn’t know what exactly had happened to Rachel seven years ago.
However, he was clear about how her intentions were impure when she came back this time.
“Just do what you’re supposed to do and stay out of trouble. I will make you pay if you cross the line,” Zane said sternly. “Also, stay away from Janice.”
Rachel burst into laughter after hearing what Zane had just said. “You don’t think that I still want to be your wife, do you?”
She rested her chin on her hand. “Do you think that I worked hard to achieve my current status just to show off in front of you? You’re too full of yourself, Zane.”
“Don’t forget what you’re saying now,” Zane mumbled in a low voice.
“You should keep your words too then, Mr. Jenkins, or I have the right to call off our cooperation at any time.” Rachel stood up and took her copy of the agreements. “I didn’t want to say this but I must remind you that as we meet more frequently in the future, you have to comfort your girlfriend well and make sure she doesn’t get jealous.”
Zane watched as she left without any hesitation, clenching his fists.
What did Rachel want to do?

Then, Rachel received a call from an unknown mumber.
Who is this?
“May I speak to Rachel?” the man on the other end of the line asked nervously.
Rachel felt excited inwardly after hearing that man’s voice. “Is that you, Harry?”
“Rachel:”
“Yes, it’s me.”
“You’re still alive!” Harry was overjoyed that he almost screamed. However, since he was on a mission, he could only reply with a low voice. “I’m dealing with a car accident here, and the responsible party gave me your contact. I thought it was a namesake. Gosh, you little punk. You’re still alive? Why didn’t you contact me? No, wait, I have to let Sarah know about this. I’m on day shift, so let’s meet tonight. You can go find Sarah now.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for you to finish work then.”
Rachel felt the joy of a long–lost reunion.
In her life, she only had two best friends, Sarah Wales and Harry Rhodes.
They must have been devastated as well when they first knew how she was dead.
Harry’s message to Sarah arrived swiftly. Rachel received another call from an unknown number after a few minutes. It was Sarah who called this time. After a quick chat, they agreed to meet in person.
Rachel arrived at Sarah’s Timeless Studio.
Sarah closed the studio for two days just because of Rachel.
The moment she saw Rachel, her eyes glistened with tears. Instead of a warm embrace, she pounded on Rachel’s shoulder, “You’re not dead, you little brat. Do you know how much tears you’ve made me shed over the years? You jerk.”
