Chapter 3 Seven Years Later
Seven years later….
Rachel dragged her suitcase and walked out of the airport. Just as she turned on her phone, she received a call. On the other end was a calm and gentle voice. “Selena, have safely at Guardia?”
“Just arrived.”

“Someone is waiting for you at the entrance. She is from Drew Research Institute. The news of you joining their research institute has already spread. I believe that many companies will want to recruit you to research products with them. Do you want me to help you screen them or do you want to do it yourself?”
In an instant, a familiar face flashed through Rachel’s mind. Her eyes glinted coldly, but it was only for a moment. She said, “James, I can handle it myself.”
Her senior, James Anderson did not insist. He only indulgently said, “Alright, take care of yourself. Let me know if anything comes up.”
After saying goodbye to him, she inadvertently saw a prominent sign with her other name “Selena” on it. Her eyelids twitched subconsciously. A young girl was holding up the sign while swinging it.
Looking around, Rachel lowered her head and quickly approached her. Without saying a word, she took the sign down and smiled politely. “Hello.”
“Selena?” The young girl recognized her instantly and asked excitedly.
“That’s me.” Rachel showed her work ID.
“Welcome to Guardia, Selena.” The young girl enthusiastically grabbed Rachel’s hand. Her heart was filled with excitement. Finally, she was able to see the person she looked up to in person. “My name is Rebecca. You can call me Becca.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Becca. Let’s go.”
The moment Rachel got into the car, Zane, not far away, also emerged from the airport. In a daze, he felt as though he had/seen a familiar figure.
He stopped in his tracks. His gaze fell on an MPV. What’s going on? How could he suddenly remember that woman?
Recalling the news of Rachel’s death in a car accident seven years ago, he briefly felt shocked and heavy–hearted. Over the years, it seemed that certain images of her came to mind more

Mr. Jenkins, Ms. Bailey has booked a restaurant for tonight. Should I cancel the other plans for the evening?” Colin asked.
“Yes,” Zane replied.
On the way, Becca kept introducing Rachel to the fun and delicious places in Guardia. She was as happy as a lark.
Rachel remained indifferent. This was the place she had lived for over twenty years, and she was more familiar with it than anyone else. But after seven years, she found that things had changed here.
Seven years ago, after finding out she was pregnant and leaving the hospital, she was inexplicably involved in a car accident. As she was about to lose consciousness, she clearly heard the person who hit her made a phone call. He was paid to hit her, and finally addressed the person on the phone as “Mr. Jenkins“.
When she heard the name, she felt utterly hopeless. She never would have imagined that the person who would ultimately want her dead was Zane. She had already signed the agreement and left, but he still refused to let her live.
She thought that she and her children were doomed. If it hadn’t been for her teacher, Davis Riley rushing from abroad and secretly taking her out of the country, she and the children would not have survived. She would also not be where she was today.
After seven years of waiting, now was the time for her revenge.
Rachel suppressed the fierceness in her eyes and said slowly, “Becca, please take me to a place first.”
Rachel stood in front of the Freeman family’s door and pressed the doorbell. Who would have thought that their biological daughter returning to her own home would be like a guest visiting?
“Ms. Rachel, you’re back!” The maid who opened the door was ecstatic.
“Yes, I’m back,” Rachel responded lightly. “Where is Henry?”
“Mr. Freeman is in the study. I will go and inform him now.”
“No need, I know the way.” Rachel went in on her own, ignoring the people sitting in the living room. She went straight upstairs.
