Mrs. Freeman shoved Rachel away once more. “How shameless can you be? Do you think what I said earlier was just mere words?”
“This is my home!” Rachel retorted.
Mrs. Freeman chuckled. “Oh, this is no longer your home. Henry made it clear before he was hospitalized. If you were ever driven out, you are never allowed to enter the Freeman family’s door ever again.”
“That’s impossible.” Rachel’s face turned pale. “This is the house Mom left for me. Why can’t I enter?”
Mrs. Freeman stood before her, gloating. “If I were you, I’d have no shame coming back. I’d have found some place to get by, and if things got too hard, just die! At least that way, you would spare the Freeman family from further humiliation. It’s the only way you can show filial piety to Henry right now.”
“I want to see Dad!”
Slap!
Rachel was harshly slapped across the face.
“Do you really think you’re still Ms. Freeman? Someone shut the door! Don’t let this ill–fated person in. She’s nothing but bad luck.” With a look of disdain, Mrs. Freeman screamed those words and turned to walk back inside.
Rachel ignored the stinging pain on her face. She tried to run inside, but two bodyguards forcefully pushed her out. The door was shut. She was left outside.
She kept pounding on the door. “Let me in! let me in! This is my home. What right do you have to stop me from coming in? I want to see Dad! I want to see Dad!”
Knocking and shouting yielded no response. Rachel immediately picked up her phone to call her father, Henry Freeman, only to discover she had been blocked. Upon the result, she slumped to the ground.
She had been abandoned by Zane, and the Freeman family had completely cut ties with her
as well.
Why! Why did everyone treat her like this? What did she do wrong?
Two months later at the hospital, despite all her efforts, Rachel still couldn’t see Henry. She had been staying in the cheapest motel, drifting through her days in a daze. Every time she

woke up, she saw news and photos of Zane and the woman he deeply loved. Occasionally, there were also mocking posts in her social circle calling her an abandoned wife.
However, she hadn’t expected to notice something unusual about her body, which prompted her to go to the hospital for a check–up.
“Pregnant? I’m pregnant? How is that possible?” Rachel held the test report in one hand and touched her stomach with the other.
Seeing her panicked expression, the doctor instructed, “You are carrying twins. I suggest you have your husband accompany you for a thorough check–up. The report indicates you have severe malnutrition.”
“Thank you, I understand.” Rachel hurriedly left, unaware that another woman entered quietly after her.
She left the hospital in a daze. She touched her stomach, tears falling one after another.
“Why did both of you have to appear at a time like this?”
Then, she muttered to herself, “If I tell Zane, do you think he would let me keep them considering they are his children? Would he let me come back?”
Rachel suddenly felt that this hope was ridiculous. She could completely imagine that even if she eagerly presented the check–up report to Zane, he would only tell her to get rid of them. The thought made her stomach ache.
Suddenly, she made up her mind. She was determined not to let Zane know about her pregnancy. She had nothing left now. These two little angels were the best gift and hope the heavens had given her. In an instant, Rachel had a plan in mind.
“My children, I will take you away from here now. I will be with you and watch you grow up well.”
Without realizing it, Rachel had already reached the street. She suddenly heard the
deafening sound of a motorcycle approaching from the right. Instinctively, she stood frozen in place, staring ahead blankly.
Bang!
She was knocked down and screamed inwardly.
Babies… My babies…
