Dilli
Chapter 24
“Ash, what are you doing?!” Seeing Ash forcibly kiss Rianne, Drake rushed forward, ready to fight, but Julian held him back.
Others might not understand, but as a fellow orphan, Julian knew exactly what Ash was about to do.
This might be the only time in his life he would kiss the woman he loved.
After a kiss that nearly left them breathless, Ash finally released Rianne.
He pushed her forcefully back toward the others and smiled: “Rie, don’t grieve for me, and don’t cry tears. I’m not worth it.”
With that, he turned and jumped off the roof without hesitation.
This time, his flight required no wings.
“Ash!” Rianne lunged forward, trying to grab him, but caught only air.
She watched Ash smile as he fell, then shatter in the next second!
Once, Sophia had been his whole world, but Sophia betrayed him.
Once, Rianne could have been his salvation, but he betrayed Rianne.
Two betrayals cut all his connections to this world.
He had no family, no friends, and no one left to care about. The rest of his life held only pain, and he couldn’t bear it…
How could someone be so unfortunate? Alone from birth, without attachments or connections, spending a lifetime searching for someone who would love him forever, never betray him–only to ind that person and then lose them?
Such a ridiculous life wasn’t worth continuing.
In the moment he jumped, Ash thought: If only I could travel to a universe without Sophia. If only I had met Rianne first…

But life has no “if only“-he had missed his chance.
Before dying, Ash removed the explosives strapped to his body, so his suicide caused no other casualties.
Rianne and Drake were successfully married, while Julian handled Ash’s burial.
“Ash, when you were alive, I actually hated you,” Julian said, standing before Ash’s tombstone. He took out a bottle of whiskey, pouring half on the ground and the other half down his own throat.
“But now I understand you.”
“Finding someone to spend a lifetime with isn’t easy. We both had a chance with Rie, but we both lost it.”
“Rie is very happy now. Rest in peace.”
“We’re all born alone, but I won’t seek death. I’ll endure this loneliness and continue guarding Rie f you, for everyone.”
“In a way, your fate was my doing… When I die, I’ll apologize to you in the underworld!”
With that, Julian paused, tapping his bottle against Ash’s tombstone in a toast.
“Ash, let’s meet in hell.”
