Chapter 22
A month later, Rianne and Drake held an extravagant wedding.
The celebration was lively, with all of Manhattan’s elite in attendance. Drake declared the wedding feast would last three days and nights–he wanted the whole world to know he’d married the woman
of his dreams!
Zach and the other four suitors came too, but they didn’t enter. Fearing their presence might upset
Rianne and Mr. Lockhart, they simply left expensive gifts and quietly departed.
The gifts were all priceless, each worth a fortune.
This was all they could do for Rianne now–leave an expensive gift, then quietly withdraw, no longer disturbing her life.
At ten in the morning, the ceremony officially began. Countless flowers bloomed, and blue fireworks
exploded in the sky, forming the words: [Congratulations on Drake and Rianne’s Wedding!]
Amid this festive atmosphere, Ash appeared.
In just one month since they’d last met, Rianne almost didn’t recognize him.
Ash’s hair had turned completely white. He looked gaunt and pale, like a snow sculpture in winter–so fragile he might shatter at a touch.
‘Rie, can I have an hour of your time?” Ash asked. “I need to talk to you.”
Mr. Lockhart’s face immediately darkened. Before Rianne could answer, he spoke first: “Ash, the Lockhart family doesn’t owe you anything. Please leave immediately and stop harassing my laughter.”
‘Today’s my daughter’s wedding. If you have any decency left, you should follow the others‘ example–leave your gift and quietly depart, not come here to cause trouble.”
Hearing this, Ash gave a bitter smile: “Mr. Lockhart, don’t worry. I’ll leave soon. I just want to speak privately with Rie for a few words. After that, I’ll go.”
Rianne gave Ash a cold look: “Ash, we have nothing to discuss.”

Ash smiled, gazing at Rianne’s beautiful eyes with slight obsession: “Rie, just one hour… no, ten minutes. Just ten minutes.”
“Give me ten minutes, and then I’ll disappear from your world forever.”
His voice held a subtle plea, but Rianne’s eyes remained cold, unmoved: “I won’t give you even one
minute.”
Pain shot through his heart again. Ash clutched his chest, thinking desolately: This must be what it
feels like to be pierced by a thousand arrows.
“Rie, if you’re going to be this heartless, don’t blame me,” Ash said with a smile.
As he spoke, he unbuttoned his suit jacket.
When the buttons opened, he revealed a time bomb strapped to his body!
For a moment, everyone froze in terror. Some of the more frightened guests ran straight for the exits.
Mr. Lockhart’s face turned ashen: “Ash, what are you trying to do?!”
Ash continued smiling: “I just want ten minutes to say a proper goodbye to Rie. After that, I’ll leave.”
“Rie has nothing to say to you!” Mr. Lockhart shouted furiously. “You lunatic–you’ve strapped a bomb to yourself! How could I possibly let my daughter go near you?”
‘Then I’ll have to detonate it,” Ash said in a sinister tone. “We’ll all die together!”
