f we suddenly meet like this, I honestly don’t know how to explain where I’ve been all this time. Even if I told them everything I went through, they probably wouldn’t believe me.”
Aurora’s words pulled Lucas into quiet thought.
For a moment, he couldn’t find anything to refute her with because what she said made a lot of sense.
After all, for someone in a leadership position to vanish for such a long stretch, it was bound to raise eyebrows.
Compared to others, Aurora’s disappearance did seem unusual.
So, her concern was perfectly valid.
Still, she was likely overestimating how much people at the company were actually thinking about her.
Everyone was buried in work, juggling meetings and deadlines about anyone else’s.
That was the part Aurora had overlooked.
Maybe it was because she’d been bedridden for nearly a month.
Hey barely had time to sort out their own lives, let alone worry
Sometimes, the way she thought about things was simpler than most.
Thinking of this, Lucas didn’t hesitate.
He reached out and gently took her hand, the smile on his face growing deeper.
Aurora blinked, puzzled. “What are you doing?”
They were just about to head to work, and out of nowhere, he’d grabbed her hand.
Lucas chuckled. “Nothing. I just want to walk in with you.
“You’re nervous, aren’t you? If I go with you, I’ll draw some of the attention away.”
Aurora froze on the spot.
This was the first time she’d seen this side of Lucas–so gentle and warm.
He had always treated her well, but that kindness never came as grand gestures.
It always showed in the little details.
Simply put, Lucas was the kind of man who did more than he said.
His actions always spoke louder than his words.
In truth, women who valued action often preferred this type of man- someone who could provide for them materially, even if he was a little lacking on the emotional front because he wasn’t good with words.
Aurora lowered her gaze, eyes fixed on their joined hands, her lashes trembling slightly with moisture.
“Lukey… aren’t you being a little too good to me?”
She wasn’t the type to cry easily. But lately, she’d noticed a shift in herself–she’d become more emotional, more easily moved.
At the slightest sign of tenderness, tears would threaten to fall.
She couldn’t control the impulse, as if she’d developed some kind of emotional incontinence.
Before her coma, she had never felt this way.

Chapter 936
This was the first time she’d experienced such a strange wave of vulnerability.
Even Lucas found it a little odd.
He looked at the shimmer of tears on her face, his heart tightening in response.
“What’s wrong, Rora? Why are you crying all of a sudden?
“If something’s on your mind, talk to me. Don’t keep it bottled up I’ve never seen you like this before.” Lucas had always seen Aurora as a strong wojnan, someone who never let others interfere in her life.
If she could fix something, she’d always handle it herself.
