We didn’t talk about it ahead of time and it wouldn’t matter if she didn‘ t follow along, but I take the chance that she’s keeping up with where I‘ m going. She’s smart and intuitive and she doesn’t disappoint me.

I look at Shane and see his eyes have gone unfocused.
“Excuse me a moment,” he says, walking out of the room. I watch Dorian carefully since Shane has to pass him to get out of the room. He doesn’t flinch, but I’m ready to leap if he tries anything.
However, Dorian is too busy fuming over us finding the missing
money.
“Enya, refresh my memory. Did Dorian here ask you to manually create your invoices for the kitchen?”

“I didn’t know how to use the system,” he growls.
“Thankfully, Enya did. And because she’s very diligent about ensuring that the packs financials are stable, she kept her own records, separate from what she gave you. Where did all that money go, Dorian?”
He’s fuming, but he sits back again, crossing his arms and trying to calm himself down.
“If you’re so smart, why don’t you tell me?”
“Well, are just women, after all. We’re still working on that,” I say, making him smirk. “Of course, the missing money goes back before the pack was attacked, right Enya?”
“It sure does,” she says, and now his eyes track from me to her and back again.
I frown again. “Do you have difficulty with math?” I ask, my voice dripping with condescension.
“Of course not. I’m a Beta.”
“You WERE a Beta. You’re barely a warrior now. And anyone who is good at math would have been able to see those discrepancies, even if you didn’t know how to use that ridiculously easy system,” I say, once again pushing his buttons by implying that he’s stupid. Men like this don’t like to have their egos bruised.
‘Pretty sure we found her. Christian and Shane are bringing her down to the cells to interview. She’s already shaking,‘ Sebastian says.
‘Good. Have them walk past our door. I bet she’ll break when she sees Dorian in here with us,’ I say.

You don’t have a mate or a girlfriend, so you weren’t sneaking off to have sex. You don’t have any pups to keep you up and night. So, what exactly did you do when you were a Beta?”
“You fucking bitch! You don’t know anything!” he snarls standing up from his chair and leaning over me to try and intimidate me.
