Chapter 899
They had just gotten off the plane, and who knew what that call was even about.
Aurora listened to Megan’s muttering, then said plainly, “Forget i Don’t answer. It’s not really our problem.”
After all, Julian was currently being held at the police station.
He had probably already told Albert about his situation.
And the police there must’ve known something too.
Otherwise, how else would Julian have ended up in such a mentally unstable state?
A trace of mockery flashed in Aurora’s eyes this whole thing had left a trail a mile long.
If his own father didn’t want to deal with him, then why should she?
Leonard always listened to Aurora.
Since she said not to answer, there really wasn’t any point.
Everyone knew the score.
“Alright, then I’m muting it.”
Leonard chuckled. “No need to let this nonsense ruin our mood.”
Megan nodded in agreement, the little strand of hair atop her head bouncing with the motion.
“Exactly! We finally made it back—who wants to waste time thinking about them?”
Aurora lifted her red lips into a smile. “Right? I’ve got better things to do than get caught up in their mess.”
No matter what became of Julian, it was all his own doing.
It had nothing to do with her.
She was the one who’d been hurt.
No matter where the story went, she was the one in the right.
Lucas quietly stepped up beside her, casually taking her suitcase in one hand while holding her hand with the other.
Just standing side by side, the two of them made for a stunning picture–impossible not to admire.
Their affectionate posture made Megan tease them on instinct, “Alright, alright, the two of us single folks are still standing here, you know.
“You two think you’re a perfect match, huh?”
At that moment, Aurora tightened her grip on Lucas‘ hand and gently leaned against his shoulder. “Megan, you could find someone too. Don’t worry, I will help you scout.”
Lucas looked slightly stunned, feeling the weight against his shoulder.
It gave him a deep sense of peace.
Megan watched the two of them and couldn’t help but wince dramatically.
She swore she could feel a cavity forming.
Once they arrived back in Ravenshore, everyone went their separate ways.

Chapter 899
Leonard glanced in the direction of Aurora and Larcas, his eyes filled with thoughts.
There was so much he wanted to say, but he didn’t know how to begin.
He wrestled silently with it how was he supposed to speak up now?
The two of them were clearly wrapped up in each other again.
If he said something now, wouldn’t that just make him the awkward third wheel?
Megan saw right through him and strolled over, giving him a pat on the shoulder.
“Alright, stop staring.”
“Aren’t you hungry?” she said with a playful wink. “I know this great little hidden restaurant. Let’s go eat.”
Looking at Megan’s mischievous grin, Leonard’s tangled thoughts slowly began to ease.
He nodded and said quietly, “Sure.”
Why overthink it?
Better to just take things one step at a time.
Honestly, he should learn a thing or two from Megan.
Her mindset was enviable.
She never overcomplicated things or burdened herself too much.
While they were enjoying their day, over on Albert’s end, his rage was building fast.
He slammed the phone onto the floor.
The loud “bang” echoed through the room, drawing glances from people outside.
