Among the suitors, Ash and Julian were the most stunned.
“Rie, are you joking?” Ash asked coldly. “Is this because I gave the “Tears of the Ocean‘ to my sister instead of you? Is that why you’re putting on this little show to spite me?”
Julian also looked upset: “Rie, why would you choose Drake Quinn? If you want to get back at Ash,
you could choose me–I’m willing to be used!”
His seemingly devoted expression moved many in the crowd.
“Julian loves Rianne so much. Didn’t he once jump off a building for her?”
“Why doesn’t she choose him? If a man loved me that much, I’d marry him in a heartbeat!”
“Everyone in Manhattan knows Julian is crazy about Rianne, but she’s never given him a second
glance…”
Everyone was sympathizing with Julian, feeling sorry that his true love wasn’t returned.
Hearing their pitying comments, Rianne couldn’t help but smile. She turned to meet Julian’s devoted
gaze and asked, “Julian, do you really love me that much?”
“Of course,” Julian replied without hesitation. “Rie, I love you. I would do anything for you, including dying for you!”
Rianne kept smiling: “You love me that much? But I heard that when you jumped from that building, it was actually to scare me away?”
Julian’s face instantly turned pale: “…Who… who told you that?”
‘Was it Zach? Rie, don’t listen to his lies. I never said that.”
‘I swear to God, I’ve never said those words. I truly love you–no one in this world loves you more than I do!”
Julian’s acting was so convincing that for a moment, Rianne almost believed him.
But unfortunately for him, she had heard his true feelings, so no matter how well he performed, it

Tired of Julian’s lies, Rianne pulled out a voice recorder and pressed play.
“That idiot Rianne probably thinks I’m head over heels for her. Truth is, I didn’t jump off that building to prove my love–I did it to scare her away…”
Julian’s mocking voice played for everyone to hear, shocking the entire room!
And Julian’s face lost all color in an instant.
“Julian, no one’s spreading rumors,” Rianne said calmly. “These are your own words.”
“So stop the devoted act. It’s disgusting.”
“Rie, you’ve got it all wrong…” Julian’s eyes mysteriously reddened. “Actually, I…”
But before he could finish, Drake stepped forward and punched Julian hard!
“No one insults my fiancée and calls her an idiot to my face,” Drake declared fiercely. “And I’m the one who loves Rie more than anyone in this world!”
At the word “fiancée,” Ash’s handsome brows instantly locked together.
“Rie, stop this nonsense,” Ash said. “Don’t you really want to marry me?”
“I’m willing to marry you and cherish you as your father requested. I’ll make you my queen, second only to me and above everyone else.”
“So stop playing around. The Quinns are business partners with the Lockharts, and your fathers are
old friends. Playing with Drake like this could affect both families‘ relationship.”
