Once she recovered, there would still be so many things waiting for her to deal with.
Aurora shook her head and picked up her toothbrush to wash up.
Meanwhile, Megan hurried back to the table to grab a few quick bites.
Leonard watched Megan bustling around like a busy little bee.
He recalled what Aurora had just said-“It’s rare to see her up this early.”
That made Leonard curious: what time did Megan usually wake up at home?
Without beating around the bush, he asked her directly.
Megan suddenly looked a little embarrassed.
“Well… at home…”
She scratched her head, unsure how to explain.
After all, at home, she usually slept in until late morning.
And even then, it was always the housekeeper who came to wake her up.
If she were left on her own, she probably wouldn’t wake up until the afternoon.
If it weren’t for her parents worrying that she’d go hungry, they wouldn’t even bother trying to wake her.
Seeing Megan hesitate like that, looking awkward and flustered, Leonard couldn’t help but smile.
It didn’t take him long to figure out why Megan was being so evasive.
Her little princess attitude clearly showed she’d been spoiled by her family.
If they didn’t adore her, how else could she afford to be so carefree?
Everything Megan had now was proof of how much her family cherished her.
Megan was still trying to figure out how to explain her waking habits to Leonard.
When she looked up, she was met with his teasing, half–smiling eyes.
Megan wasn’t stupid–she instantly caught the amusement in his eyes.
She shot to her feet and pointed at Leonard. “What’s that supposed to mean? Don’t laugh at me! Who doesn’t sleep in when they’re at home? Seriously.”
Leonard quickly raised his hands in mock surrender, speaking with a coaxing tone. “I wasn’t laughing at you, I swear.”
“You’re right, sleeping in is totally normal. I just think you’re really cute, that’s all.”
Megan had been speaking freely and boldly, but the moment he said the word “cute,” she froze like someone hit pause.
A flush of red instantly crept up her cheeks, like the soft glow of sunset tinting her fair face.
And in that same moment, it cast a light into the dark corner of Leonard’s heart.
He was caught off guard, stunned, unsure of how to respond.
He never seemed to feel this strongly around Aurora.
But with Megan, this feeling had surfaced more than once.

Chapter 852
His expression suddenly cooled as self–loathing swelled inside hi
What the hell was wrong with him?
Was he really that kind of guy?
He didn’t want to be, yet he couldn’t seem to stop himself.
Leonard felt a flicker of fear in his chest, especially at this loss of control over his own emotions.
He had no idea what to do.
Seeing his sudden change in expression, Megan picked up on it right away.
She wasn’t clueless.
She had always been sensitive to others‘ moods, and she instantly noticed the shift in him.
Just moments ago, hadn’t they been getting along fine?
He was calling her cute just a second ago, and now he was giving her the cold shoulder?
Megan lowered her gaze too, her heart heavy with disappointment
Even if she told herself that men falling out of love was nothing new…
