Chapter 810
At first, Leonard assumed Aurora’s coma was just an accident.
But now, hearing what she said, it was obvious that her illness hadn’t been an accident at all.
She’d been drugged.
“Who was it, Aurora? Tell us.”
This time, Leonard couldn’t hold back and spoke up.
Hearing him, Aurora gave a slight nod, acknowledging his presence.
She hadn’t missed that Leonard was there.
Though a little surprised, she still felt it was perfectly appropriate for him to come.
They had always gotten along well as friends.
But Lucas‘ jealousy was palpable.
The way he looked at her made everything crystal clear.
Having survived this, Aurora made a quiet vow to herself–no matter what happened from now on, she wouldn’t let Lucas feel hurt or jealous because of her again.
She needed to be more mindful.
Since she already knew what got under his skin, why would she keep testing him?
That would be crossing the line.
So, from the moment they entered the room, she had consciously kept her distance from Leonard.
And Leonard noticed.
They were both smart people–why let something like this cloud their judgment?
It just wasn’t worth it.
That was why Leonard had remained measured and refrained from saying anything inappropriate.
But the moment he heard Aurora say she’d been harmed by someone, he couldn’t keep quiet anymore.
If she’d simply fallen ill, there would’ve been nothing to get worked up about.
But now that he knew someone had deliberately done this to her how could he possibly accept that?
Lucas, watching Leonard’s reaction, felt a dark glint flash through his eyes.
But Lucas didn’t say anything.
If he had to think from a friend’s perspective, he actually understood.
He knew that from a purely platonic standpoint, what Aurora had gone through was deeply worrying.
And now that she had just woken up, it wasn’t the time to bring up things that could upset her.
So, he kept holding himself back.
Besides, he had been watching closely this whole time–there really didn’t seem to be anything going on between them.
If that was the case, then clinging to this issue any further would be pointless.

Aurora mét Megan’s concerned gaze and finally began to explain everything slowly.
Truthfully, even now, she still didn’t understand.
What had she done to make Tessa and Julian hate her so much?
She had gone through every possibility in her head but never found an answer.
Maybe those two just hated her for no reason at all.
Megan looked at Aurora’s frustrated expression, and their years of friendship made it easy for her to read what Aurora was thinking.
She gently patted her on the back and comforted her in a soft voice.
“Aurora, don’t overthink it. This is just because those two are rotten to the core. It’s not really about you.
“And besides, what kind of decent human being would even think of using something like that on a normal person?”
Megan’s tone turned sharp with anger. “If you ask me, people like that are just messed up in the head!
“And your so–called sister–Tessa–don’t think for a second she’s innocent. If Julian was the one who did it, then I’d bet anything she had a hand in it too.”
Aurora nodded. Of course she understood that.
Even Megan could see through it–she wasn’t clueless either.
Anyone with a working brain could piece the logic together after thinking about it for even a second.
