Sweat had already started to gather in the palms of Lucas‘ hands, especially under Aurora’s gaze.
He always felt like she could see right through him, and that unseed him the most.
He didn’t even know how to talk to her anymore.
No matter how many times he saw her, the feeling never faded, as if he’d never grow immune to it.
Lucas thought it over–he couldn’t keep this up.
Spending too much time with Aurora was basically handing her the chance to spot his flaws.
“Rora, I’ll call my friend now and have him notify the station. Just in case they’re off duty later and Julian doesn’t get the lesson he deserves–it’d be a waste of our time, wouldn’t it?”
He silently prayed this would divert her attention.
If this dragged on, it would do no one any good, and the longer it went, the more likely he’d expose himself.
So, to avoid that, Lucas had no choice but to change the subject–or better yet, shut it down entirely before she could speak another word.
Aurora nodded, looking completely understanding.
“Alright, go handle it.”
She really did get distracted and didn’t press him further.
“Just let me know the outcome later.”
She didn’t think it was worth digging any deeper.
Since he’d already said it was his friend, then if she kept asking, it would really be pushing it.
Putting everything else aside, if she rushed to deal with all this right after waking up, wouldn’t that man just find it annoying?
Some things needed to be handled with moderation, not pushed to the extreme.
Otherwise, it would come off terribly.
Aurora wasn’t the type of woman who didn’t know when to stop–she understood boundaries, respected etiquette, and knew where the line was.

Lucas looked at her, quietly moved by how considerate she was.
