“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I say.
“I saw you. You’re better than that, Alpha Enya. So, come at me like you mean it. Don’t be a Violet. Nobody likes a Violet,” she says, making me laugh before switching to offense.
The rest of warrior training goes by quickly. Eliza forces me to focus. She’s a good fighter and she values being fast and strong.
When we walk inside, I see Christian hanging back with Beta Braden. I also see Shane talking to the warriors about what they learned today. It’s the first interaction that I’ve seen with them and him since my father died that looks positive. Of course, Mr. Perfect is already having this effect on my brother and the pack.
“I can’t believe he thinks I need strength training. Is he blind! I’m an excellent warrior!” Violet says a bit too loudly as she walks in. I’m guessing that she’s only being this vocal because Christian and Braden are still outside, which means she doesn’t respect me or Shane.
“Oh, stuff it, Violet. You did this to yourself, acting like a poor damsel in distress so you could try to get Christian into bed. It was pathetic and he obviously saw right through it,” I say.
The entire room goes quiet. I don’t usually confront people so publicly or vocally, but she’s rubbed me the wrong way and I won’t allow her to start making people question Christian.

Pup?” she says, turning her venom on me.
“Shall we see which one of us wins in a fight, Violet. You or the pup?”

I ask, popping the ‘p‘ and turning to face her fully.
“What’s going on, Enya,” Shane asks, walking up beside me.
“Violet apparently needs to be reminded that although I’m under eighteen, I’m still an Alpha female who could wipe the floor with her without breaking a sweat.”
“Don’t pretend you’re not jealous. We all see the way you look at Alpha Christian. What does happen on your floor at night when the lights go out?” she taunts.
Maybe it’s because she’s too close to the truth, that I do end up in his arms every night, or maybe my frayed nerves just can’t take anymore, but I leap at her.
My entire body is jerked to a halt by a steel rod. I turn, wanting to know what happened, only to find Christian, his arm wrapped around my waist, halting my movements.
“So, Violet, you didn’t heed my warning about respecting your Alphas. Perhaps a couple nights in the cells will change your mind,” he says, not releasing me, but not taking his eyes off her.
“You can’t do that!” she screeches.
“I can and I am. Keep it up and your stay in the cells will just get longer and longer.”
I watch Braden come up behind her, grab her arm, and begin escorting her to the cells, screaming all the way.
“If no one is hungry, you can all get to work,” Christian snaps
the
group of warriors who are still standing around staring. That gets their attention, and they head to the breakfast buffet.

“Come with me and don’t make a scene about it,” Christian says in my ear before setting my feet back on the ground.
I grit my teeth, but he’s right. The pack has already had enough drama for one day.
I follow him to the office. He steps aside to let me enter before him, then closes the door behind us. I cross my arms, feeling like I’m a schoolgirl about to be scolded for doing something wrong. Well, I didn’t do anything wrong.
