Meanwhile, the match between Humbert and Alice had already begun.
Because of Alice’s earlier attitude, Humbert had no intention of holding back.
The moment they started, the black and white pieces clashed like two seasoned warriors.
“Mr. Day is best known for his formations,” someone in the audience whispered.

Before he could finish, Humbert’s fearsome strategy suddenly collapsed at one corner. The whole strategy deflated like a balloon, rendering his tactic useless.
Honestly? It was a little awkward.
At first, Humbert didn’t think much of it. But once his strategy crumbled, he seemed even more intrigued, quickly adjusting his strategy.
Alice, on the other hand, found his moves frustrating. After three moves, she broke through his strategy again.
The murmurs among the spectators grew louder.
“I’ve never seen Ghostwing in person, but I’ve heard she’s absolutely ruthless.”
“Same here. When she plays, she’s merciless, leaving her opponents questioning their very existence.”
“Look! Mr. Day’s third strategy just got destroyed again!”
“Isn’t anyone else noticing this? Alice can read Mr. Day’s strategy in advance and strike right where it hurts.”
“She can predict his moves? That’s insane.”
Cold sweat formed on Humbert’s forehead.
His expression grew grim as he realized this wasn’t going to be easy.

The move Humbert had always taken pride in couldn’t withstand three rounds.
Alice placed her third black piece. And just like that–once again–she defeated his unbreakable strategy.

Humbert’s eyes widened in disbelief. “N–no way!”
He stared at the broken strategy, getting so agitated his blood pressure spiked through the roof.
“How could my strategy fall apart so easily? That’s impossible!”
Alice calmly set down the piece and let out a soft sigh.
“I thought you had improved over the past two years. But clearly, you’ve regressed.”
Humbert’s face went pale.
“You … you …
Alice rose to her feet, the disappointment in her eyes unmistakable.
“You used to pull off more intricate/plays, like the Delicate Weave. Compared to that, this strategy of yours was sloppy. Mr. Day, it seems like your skill hasn’t progressed over the past two years.”
Humbert was shocked. The spark in his eyes trembled violently,
“Y–you really are Ghostwing. You are the real deal!”
Tears welled in his eyes. Completely abandoning any sense of composure, he rushed toward her in excitement. “I can’t believe it—you’re so young!”

Humbert started to panic when she fell silent.
“Ms. Spencer, are you refusing me?

“Sigh! I’m used to being rejected. No hard feelings.
“You don’t have to force yourself. I know I don’t deserve you.”
Alice was shocked. “What?“–

I’m seriously losing it.
With no other way out, she grabbed Eric and pulled him into the scene.
“Mr. Day, I’m married now. Anything I do needs my husband’s approval. Isn’t tha

Eric froze at the word honey, his heart raced wildly.
He looked at her, visibly startled, a trace of confusion flickering in his eyes.
