Wil

He damned near laughed every time Marilyn called Calvin, Mr Reeves. He knew she recalled who he was and this was obviously part of her plans, whatever they were. He’d really had to refrain himself on that first one though, because he’d not been expecting it at all

But those two boys, Anabell, was right, they were adorable, and he knew Calvin’s mother was going to be all over the two of them, likely to spoil them both absolutely rotten, probably more than Calvin himself would

He also had a feeling that Marilyn would let her as well, because despite Calvín dropping that marriage to Marrin on his family out of nowhere. He’d actually known Marrin for many months prior to that contract marriage being discussed and struck. Calvin had told his family 90% of the truth, he’d only lied about two things: that they had been dating in secret for almost a year, and that it wasn’t a real marriage

Calvin’s mother had stared at him and then huffed in annoyance with her son, for not doing things the traditional way and giving the girl a proper introduction and engagement, then wedding. She’d not taken it out on Marrin at all. Had just muttered, Excuse my son for not being normal.Had glared at Calvin, who’d kind of shrugged, and then she’d turned to Marrin. You do know you married an arrogant I’ll do whatever ! please, when I please, how I want, man right?”

Wil had been in the room with them for their first initial meeting as full back up and proof for Calvin’s parents

that he’d known Marrin for almost a year

Yes ma’am.Marrin had nodded to Kay

Kay had shaken her head and stated there will be none of that, you can call me mum.”

But that word hadn’t been at all comfortable for Marrin to use. She’d never had a mum before and couldn’t seem to get the word out at all. She’d stumbled over it many times in the first few hours, and in the end just

called her Kay

She’d apologised and stated that she’d never had a mother, so just couldn’t do it. It had taken Marrin almost a year to get the word mother out. Calvin had told him they’d been having a family dinner, and she’d answered yes motherwithout thinking about it to something Kay had asked her to go and get. It had made Kay very happy, and she’d been all over Marrin hugging the girl. Calvin hadn’t known how much that one word would mean to his mother, until that day

Wil didn’t know exactly how much Marilyn recalled, but she had not refused Calvin’s request to have his family’s photos sent to the boys. It had been Wil who’d composed the email about it, and he’d written, that Kay, Calvin’s mother, wanted the boys to have pictures of their family, of their grandparents specifically. And Marilyn had responded to that email, surprising him a little with I’m okay with that, Wil. Kay can have the number for that phone if she wants to as well.’

He smiled now as he watched her watching Calvin play with the boys. He also knew that at times Calvin could be just a big child himself, especially when he was mucking around with his niece and nephew. That was what he was doing right that minute, and Wil was hoping that Marilyn would recall it herself

He was more than curious about the game she was playing with Calvin. What was it she was trying to achieve? By playing at not remembering him, or did she simply believe that they were divorced, so that was

all there was to it and she thought the best way to keep Calvin at a distance was to have him think she didn’t

recall

Did she no longer want to actually be a part of the man’s life after all that had happened between them back then and recently? Wil had thought that once she got her memories back, those two would hash it out; all

that happened now and in the past. That she would probably or highly likely go back to Calvin

He honestly didn’t know if that was going to happen right now. Anabell was of no help to him either. She’d shrugged and stated she’s not once mentioned reuniting with Calvin, Wil. Just let it be, he did divorce her, and she knows that, doesn’t recall why yet. I don’t think anything will move for Marilyn until she gets that

memory back.‘

He couldn’t even blame Marilyn for it, and although she had admitted to him that she knew Calvin wasn’t abusive behind closed doors, she was not willing to tell Calvin that. It also shocked him when she once again. mentioned her bodyguards. He’d not seen them at all when she’d come in and the boys hadn’t mentioned

them

Wil wondered if it was just a shock tactic for Calvin, if they were in fact here or not? There was no need for them if she had enough of her memories back to know he’d never hurt her. He looked at the twins when Vincent told his mum he had to go to the bathroom

She went to get up, and he stated Calvin, why don’t you take them, I’ll try and sort out Christmas.”

Calvin had nodded and stood up and both the boys had stood as well, unconcerned about going with their dad to the bathroom. Marilyn had waved them off as if to say it was okay, and they’d walked away with

Calvin

Wil had smiled as Calvin held his hands out to the boys, and they’d taken them, watched them all walk away hand in hand, and he heard one of them stating You’re really tall dad.”

I am, you’ll both probably be tall as well,” Calvin had replied with a bit of a chuckle

He’d watched Marilyn visually relax in her chair as Calvin walked away and raised an eyebrow at her. How much effort is it for you to pretend not to remember him?he asked

It’s not really. She stated and looked at him. It’s kind of hard to see him like that with my boys is all.” and a sigh escaped her Children were not on the cards for us, a contract marriage only. She stated. Make sure you take him back to Houston Wil, I don’t want him here all week long.”

You still don’t recall the lead up to the divorce at all?he asked her. She’d asked Calvin about having a baby, and he’d produced divorce papers the very next day

No, I do not.She shook her head. You’ll make sure he leaves?she prompted again

Why so worried about him being here all week? Are you worried you’ll succumb to his good looks and charm once more?he chuckled, teasing her a little about how she’d been with Calvin when they were married. Only to have her screw her face up at him. No, Wil. I have a plan for Christmas myself, and it won’t be here is

all.”

Well, just to let you know, he’s cleared his schedule from Christmas Eve until practically February. He’s likely to return with me today without issue, but will be back late the 23rd or early the 24th.Wil informed her of what he did know of Calvin’s plans

Alright.” She nodded. I can work with that.”

What exactly are your plans for Calvin, if I may ask?”

No you can’t, I’ll not be telling anyone, so no one can tell him.She stated simply, and he knew she was right. He also knew if he didn’t like it he might out her to Calvin, so it was probably best for him not to know at all

The, Mr Reeves?he asked with a chuckle

Marilyn chuckled right back. Now that was amusing for me, to see the way his eyes shot to me, he didn’t like

that at all.”

No he did not,Wil admitted. That’s because he wants to be on firstname terms with you.”

It’s not going to happen Wil.She smiled at him..

So when are you going to use those keys?he asked

Shortly.” She told him, Don’t concern yourself with it, Wil, and please tell Kay, I’ll, of course, let her and the family be a part of the twinslives. She stated as the boys came running across the room with Calvin trailing

them at a more sedate pace

I’ll discuss that with Kay herself and sort out a time she and her husband can meet their grandchildren, Wil.” Marilyn smiled at him as Calvin sat down

Calvin’s eyes moved from him to Marilyn as she went on. I may have no memories of them, but I’m not so cruel that I would deny grandparents seeing their grandchildren.”

Alright, I will let Kay know.Wil nodded. She’ll be happy to hear that.”

Boys,Marilyn stated, “It’s time to go, please say goodbye to your father.”

He watched them pout and Marilyn shake her head at them. This was just a meet him is all. You knew that. You’ll get to see your father for Christmas lunch and maybe, Christmas Eve for dinner. She told them, Wil is very convincing.”

Wil smiled, he’d not brought up Christmas Eve. That was all her own doing. She likely didn’t want to deny the boys or Calvin seeing each other on the holidays. He looked at the boys. You two can call me Uncle Wil, seeing as you already call my wife Aunty Anabell. He leaned forward and smiled right at them. I also want

you

two to be able to spend time with your dad, so I will help with that where necessary. You two may ask me anything, can text me too,he told them, and they nodded at him

He stood along with Calvin, and they walked Marilyn and the twins out to her car, and he realised there was no driver as she got her keys out. “Are you allowed to drive, Marilyn?he asked

Yes, since Wednesday. She nodded. Say hello to Anabell for me.”

Marilyn, I’d like to thank you for bringing the boys here today. I did not expect that, it was truly a lovely surprise,” Calvin stated

She looked at him, Mr Reeves, this here today is a show of good faith, that I am willing to allow you to be a part of the boyslives only. This changes nothing between you and I.she told him simply but firmly. But I’m not mean or cruel, and I’m not out to hurt you personally. It’s simply that dads have rights and the boys wanted to meet you today, she told him

Wil saw Calvin flinch at the words not out to hurt you personally. It was a full dig at him and how he’d treated her, and it worked. He understood her meaning in full. Her words also showed him she wasn’t about to just let what happened slide because he was the twin’s father

Strong and stubborn, was this new version of Marrin/Marilyn, was what he’d told Calvin a long time ago. He also once believed that there was a temper under Marrin’s sweet, gentle nature and this woman now before them was likely the real Marrin, Marrin Huxley, who had not just risen up to be seen, but was now here to stay, and she was going to show Calvin that his behaviour was unacceptable
