But Irene was a different story. In her younger years, she and Jimmy had fought their way to the top. building the Nolan Group from the ground up. Many of the big names in the entertainment industry today had once been her juniors. If Irene spoke, people listened–out of respect, fear, or both. 

Levi was still a small–time actor, not even landing lead roles yet. He couldn’t afford to rock the boat. 

Kaleb’s face practically screamed worry. 

He gently tugged on Levi’s sleeve, silently urging him not to make any rash moves. 

Even Daniel, standing off to the side, had been sidelined in the current situation–proof enough of how much weight Irene still carried in the Nolan Group. 

Behind Irene, her entourage began whispering among themselves. 

“Why hasn’t Levi said anything yet? Is he trying to get blacklisted?” 

“Mrs. Irene showed up personally. That’s a huge gesture–and he’s acting like a diva?” 

“He’s just a small celebrity. This is too much trouble for someone like him. Just blacklist him already.” 

“Mrs. Irene probably only came out of respect for the Quintanas.” 

“Right, the Quintanas used to have some ties with her. She wouldn’t go too far for their sake.” 

“Levi isn’t even an important member of the Quintanas. He’s just a distant branch, yet he acts like he’s some A–lister. Ridiculous.” 

“Yeah, he’s let the fame get to his head.” 

The voices were low, but Levi heard every word crystal clear. 

His hands clenched into fists. 

Everything he had now, he had fought for. 

He may not have had much status in the Quintanas, but after graduating from college and refusing to live under constant pressure, he had chosen to break into the entertainment industry instead. 

He never once relied on his background.

Meanwhile, Alice was still handling some legacy issues with the IT Department, which had caused a bit of delay. 

Once word spread in the company group chat, employees started gossiping, and every single comment made its way to Alice’s ears. 

“I heard Levi only showed up to fix the issue because Mrs. Irene got involved.” 

“I knew it. With how fiercely loyal his fans are, there’s no way Levi would be that submissive… Turns out it was all because of Mrs. Irene.” 

“Ms. Randall went to greet him earlier, but he didn’t even acknowledge her.” 

“This time, Mrs. Irene is going to tighten her grip on the fashion department. She might even snatch a few other departments too.” 

“I don’t care about the rest. I just hope the IT Department stays safe–it’s finally running well.” 

“Not necessarily. Isn’t Mrs. Irene here today mainly to deal with Mr. Eric and Mrs. Nolan?” 

Just as Alice opened the door, all the chatter outside suddenly died, as if everything had just been a figment of her imagination. 

She sneered quietly to herself. 

Before she could say anything, a commotion started at the entrance. 

“Look! Levi’s here!” 

Everyone turned toward the door. 

Sure enough, Levi stood there, a faint smile in his eyes. 

“Mrs. Nolan, I’ve been waiting for you. I know you’re busy, so I figured I’d come find you myself.”
