Chapter 119 Headache
Chapter 119 Headache
Alice let out a soft chuckle. “Didn’t you realize I was insulting someone?”
Daniel stayed silent. Can we just pretend I didn’t say anything?
After getting out of the car, the three of them headed to the private elevator.
But just as they reached it, they spotted Levi’s agent, Kaleb, waiting nearby.
“Ms. Spencer, Mr. Eric, Levi would like to speak with both of you.”
Alice sneered. “Wasn’t he here to see Ms. Randall?”
She deliberately emphasized the name Ms. Randall, making her displeasure clear.
Kaleb looked visibly awkward.
“Ms. Spencer, that’s not the case. We’re here specifically to speak with you and Mr. Eric.”
He paused, as if recalling something.
“Ms. Spencer, if you’re available, let’s talk. Levi will also clarify the whole misunderstanding.”
Alice turned to Daniel.
“Book us an empty meeting room.”
Daniel immediately made the call.
Kaleb was relieved. After seeing Alice and Eric off, he quickly rushed to find Levi.
Inside the lobby, a crowd of employees had gathered around Levi, asking for autographs.

Someone, clearly hoping to stir the pot, shouted out loud. “Levi, are you here to talk to Ms. Randall about the fashion department?”
The question silenced the entire crowd.
Levi’s phone vibrated. He glanced down at the screen, then looked toward the doorway, where Kaleb stood.
A faint, cold smile curved on Levi’s lips.
“When did I ever say I was here to see Ms. Randall?”
The crowd froze.
If he isn’t here to see Ruby, then is he here to stir up trouble?
Most of the people in the lobby were the Nolan Group employees, so they knew a bit about Levi.
If he really was here to cause trouble, the company could be facing a major compensation claim.

Not that they cared whether the company lost money–they were more worried this would affect their
bonuses.
Suddenly, nobody felt like being a fangirl or fanboy anymore.
“There were some issues with the materials the fashion department gave me,” Levi said calmly. “Fortunately, Mr. Eric and Mrs. Nolan explained everything clearly. I’m here today to sign a new contract with Mr. Eric.”
The crowd was stunned. Someone even blurted out, “But Mr. Eric doesn’t oversee the fashion department.
Levi raised a brow. “Oh really?
“Well, I don’t know much about the internal structure. I just recognized Mr. Eric.”
His meaning was clear.
Everyone knew the fashion department used to be run by Irene and Jimmy. Later, when Jimmy developed Alzheimer’s and Irene started losing her grip, Ruby had taken over.
Back then, Ruby tried everything she could to gain control, but not only did she fail, she created a mess.
Now, Eric was stepping in.
“Mr. Eric is impressive.”
“This is probably his way of forcing Mrs. Irene to hand over full control.”
“The fashion department is very profitable. It’s just that certain people have been siphoning off funds, which skewed the financial reports.”
“Honestly, I’d prefer it if Mr. Eric took over the fashion department.”
“This might end up drawing Mrs. Irene out. If she doesn’t give up her power, Mr. Eric’s not going to back down.”
“Looks like we’re in for some drama today.”/
“All right, everyone, let’s disperse.”
Arriving with more staff, Kaleb added, “Mr. Quinn still has other appointments. Please don’t block his way.”
Right after, the Nolan Group’s security showed up and began redirecting the crowd.
Kaleb escorted Levi into the elevator.
Levi asked, “How’d they react?”
“Ms. Spencer didn’t seem to care about something as minor as the fashion department.”
Levi gave a cold smile.
“Whether she cares or not is one thing. Whether I deliver it or not is another.

Kaleb didn’t respond. He still felt the whole situation was risky.

Even though Alice knew Risa, that didn’t mean she could influence Risa’s decisions. And besides, they were well aware of the internal politics at the Nolan Group.
The company was currently split into three factions–Ruby’s, Eric’s, and Irene’s.
No one could predict which direction the Nolan Group would take in the future.
Betting everything on Alice might be a little too reckless.
Levi seemed to have read his mind.
“Kaleb.”
“Yes?”
“A girl from the countryside who managed to carve out a path through the Nolans… You think she’s just some ordinary woman?”
That one sentence hit Kaleb like a wake–up call.
He gave a bitter smile. “I didn’t take her background into account.”
As the elevator doors opened, they saw Ruby waiting outside with her team.
Kaleb immediately felt a headache coming on.
They had hoped to work with Eric–offending Ruby was never part of the plan.
After all, the Nolan Group had investments all over the entertainment industry. If things went south, they didn’t expect Ruby to save them, but at the very least, they hoped she wouldn’t make things worse.
And now…
“Ms. Randall.” Kaleb quickly stepped forward with a forced smile.
