Ziana’s POV
All of the people have entered and sat at their designated seats. We are waiting for mom and Warrick to arrive, confusing me. They are normally on time, If not early.
I look around, studying the assigned seating. We are at the opposite end to my parents again. To my left is Addie, my right is Alpha Shane. Across from me is Alpha Killian, to his left is Alpha Sebastian, and to his right is Alpha Camilla.
Alpha Shane is in his mid thirties, his pack is smaller, but supplies our coal and diamonds. He is a good Alpha.
Alpha Sebastian’s pack supplies some of our meat and fabric. Alpha Killian’s pack stays to themselves, but their pack supplies some fine jewelry, and black tea. Alpha Camilla has a small pack that provides silk.
My thoughts are interrupted by a salad being put in front of me. I look to the end of the table and see that
mother and Warrick arrived.
“You good?” Addie asks me quietly.
“Yeah.” I say as I take a bite of my salad. I notice that Alpha Killian has been staring at me again and I try not
to let it affect me. His gaze makes my skin prickle. Far from the creepy feeling it was giving me in the
conference room.
“Princess Ziana.” Alpha Sebastian calls and I turn my attention to him. “How did you know? About Alpha
Stanley’s daughter?” He asks and I pause my fork. That was brave.
“Research and observation.” I answer. He must pick up on the fact that I am not willing to speak any more on
- it.
“It was impressive.” Alpha Killian says and my gaze snaps to him. His dark pink eyes hold an admiration that makes me uncomfortable, but also. Causes fluttering in my stomach? What the hell?
“Thank you.” I respond and continue eating my salad. We continue in polite conversation throughout the
meal. We are on the main course now, which is steak, potatoes and broccoli.
“When you two go on your trip, you should come and visit my pack. You have to try steak right after the slaughter. It will change your perception of a good cut of meat, and everything else will pale in comparison.” Alpha Sebastian says and I smile, looking at Addie, who nods.
“Sure, but I will be disappointed if it doesn’t meet the high expectations I now have.” I answer, and everybody
chuckles at that. Well everybody except Alpha Killian. He growled, but quickly covered it up with a cough.
What is his problem?
“Well it better live up to the expectation or I might find a fork in my hand.” He jokes and I laugh, ageing with
him. The others chuckle at that too. Alpha Killian seems aggravated, maybe that he isn’t in on the joke.
“Princess Ziana stabbed Alpha Clint in the hand with her fork at lunch.” Alpha Camillia explains to Alpha
Killian. He eyes me questioningly.
“Why?” He asks and the others look at me to answer, apparently not knowing what exactly happened. I shrug.

“Why not?” I ask. They all look at me questioningly, then at Addie as she snorts. She cleared her throat.
“Sorry.” She says quietly and takes a bite of her steak
“You’re traveling?” Asks Alpha Killian.
“Yea.” I answer, not bothering to elaborate. Something about this man unnerves me.
“Princess Ziana is traveling to find her mate.” Alpha Camilla er
and at that moment I want to punch her
in her pretty face. Alpha Killian chokes on whatever he just put in his mouth.
“Oh poor girl. I heard that you don’t have a wolf, how do you expect to find your mate?” Luna Stella decides to join the conversation. She is next to Alpha Camilla and a b*tch.
“I’m not trying to find my mate. Addie and I just want to see the world.” I clarify, grumbling and calming the building anger.
“No need to be condescending Luna Stella. She obviously is powerful without a wolf. Or do you only remember rumors that make you feel superior. There was also the rumor of her saving the queen and multiple others during the war three years ago.” Alpha Sebastian speaks up, surprising me. Luna Stella just huffs and turns back to whoever she was speaking with before.
“You didn’t have to do that.” I say, quietly.
“She likes to put people down in order to feel better about herself. I like putting people like that in their place.” Alpha Sebastian says and I nod, continuing with my dinner. There is occasional chatter.
Alpha Killian is very quiet since he asked me about traveling. His eyes almost never leave me, even when others are speaking.
“Do you think he knows?” I mindlink Addie as I take a bite of the tiramisu that was brought out.
“No, I don’t think so. He probably would have tried to kill you if he knew. He’s more of an act first, ask a later person. He wouldn’t wait to hear your side.” She says, making me feel better and worse at the same time.
“I think he wants a piece of your tiramisu. If you catch my drift.” She says, making me choke on the delicious dessert. Eyes widen around us as I cough and splutter.
“Wrong pipe.” I choke out, blushing when my eyes meet the dark pink ones. I reach for my water and take a
sip.
“It could be the right one.” Addie says out loud, causing the water in my mouth to spray over the table. She Hoses it and is laughing so hard the whole table is looking at us.
“I hate you.” I say lowly to her, which causes her to laugh harder. Heaving like a goddess damned hyena. I look around and my mouth drops in horror as I see Alpha Killian dabbing drops of water off his face.
“Oh my goddess. I am SO sorry.” I apologize.
“It’s fine.” He answers as he waves me off.
“I bet he liked it. He probably wants you to splash him in another way.” Addie mindlinks and I gasp, elbowing her, hard, in the ribcage. Her breath leaves her, but it doesn’t make me feel better. My face is as red as a ripe
tomato.
“It’s clear you two are close, Makes me want to call my bestie.” Alpha Camilla says and I smile slightly at her.
“Yeah.” Addie replies. After the show calms, and dinner is almost done, I hear a throat clear and I look over to

meet dark blue, nervous eyes.
“Princess Ziana, would you like to go for a walk after dinner?” Alpha Sebastian asks, a little flush on his
cheeks and I smile.
“I’d love to.” I reply, not even needing to think about it. There is a warning growl from his right and I turn to Alpha Killian in surprise. He is eyeing Alpha Sebatian like he is about to kill him.
Well I don’t want to stick around for this.
Standing up, I smile at Alpha Sebastian.
“Let’s go.” I say and he nods, standing up as well.
